Breaking Bad

I think Walt wants to break good and I think between listening to his former colleagues talk about what a great man Walt was and Jr telling him to die, that Walt wants to repent, or transform as much as possible back into the man he was. Or at least do good.

Perhaps the ultimate tragedy is that he will fail at doing these things.

Yea, I think you might've nailed it Al. I can see Walt finally going back to being good to try and get his family back only to die with no one knowing he tried to fix the mess he created. Hence, he dies a villain, which he is, but an unknown redeemed villain.

I really wanna hear "El Paso" in next week's episode tho

So many ways this last episode could go, it is mind blowing. Plus they have a lot to pack into 75 minutes. Mixed feelings, I want Sunday to hurry up and get here but at the same time I don't want the show to be over.

The show has gotten to be so bleak I just need it to be over. This was of course, inevitable, but I wouldn't say I "enjoy" watching it anymore. I appreciate it, I think it's great, but I've started approaching our DVR with a source of dread on Sunday nights.

Dang. I enjoy the show still very much.

At first I was thinking that Gray Matter was the spark he needed to go back and try to fix things... However, I'm now thinking that he's blaming Gray Matter and Gretchen for everything. Something happened on that family vacation with Gretchen which caused him to leave her (and his research that Gray Matter is based on) behind. If you think about it, Jack stole his "life's work" i.e. money/blue meth, as did Gretchen and Elliot with Gray Matter. Why did he leave Gretchen in the first place and why did he sell his stake so cheaply?

To have them say that he only contributed the name likely irked that ego of his back to the root cause of his need to 'break bad' in the first place. I literally have no idea how things will end but I'm pretty sure there will be a Jesse/Todd finale, as well as a Walter vs. Gray Matter incident.

I don't think Jesse will kill Walter, but he may leave him somewhere to die, especially after Andrea and his last girlfriend...(he'll blame Walter for telling them about Andrea and for letting the other one die).

In any case, I love how none of us have any idea how this will play out and the big gun could be for more or less anyone. Pretty sure this is the best show ever on television... I thought Lydia would get the Ricin, but now it could be Gretchen & Elliot, or even Walter...

Looking forward the series finale.

Walt didn't look like he wanted to break good at the end of the episode. Looked quite the opposite to me.

Do any of you watch Talking Bad on AMC after Low Winter Sun? Adam Scott, from Parks and Recreation, said on last night's Talking Bad he thinks Walter will turn himself into the cops and he will take the Ricin himself before the cops show up... After he said that I thought he could be right. Walt could go and do whatever he still needs to do and once that is complete he will be satisfied and be okay with dying. I like the irony of him dying from something he created but I don't think Vince Gilligan will want to have his iconic character commit suicide.

Why would Walt take the ricin? He's dying of lung cancer with possibly only weeks/months to live. The end last night threw me for a loop...mainly because I thought the ending was pretty clear. Walt would attack the nazi gang and free/kill Jesse then drop dead of cancer with his family broke. Now it's hard not to imagine Walt going after Gray Matter but maybe all that was just a spark he needed to either break good or totally break bad.

I think it was just the spark he needed to keep fighting and not tive up. Can't see why he would want to attack these folks (especially his ex who was pretty complimentary to him overall). Seems out of character.

Well, he's got a M60 and ricin. They are both not for the same person or group. You don't need an M60 if you are killing the nazis with ricin and vice versa. The ricin I would think is for someone beside the nazis. At this point I don't think Walt even thinks Jesse is alive so the ricin isn't for Jesse...the ricin almost has to be for Gray Matter. Walt isn't killing Skyler either, why would he protect her on the phone just to kill her? And if he kills himself (which is how I think he dies, remember the opening scene in the pilot??) the two weapons are for two different groups/people.

I think the ricin is for Lydia, or for Walt himself, possibly just for insurance in case he is captured. I just don't see Walt going homicidal on Gray Matter, that would be a major change in his character.
