NBA: *** NBA Playoffs Thread V2.0 ***

Heat will need to play much better than they have to be SA, they won't get all the freebies from turnovers the Pacers gave them. I think the Spurs win in 6.

The Spurs are a different style of team than Indiana. Indiana is one of a very few teams that can match Miami athletically. The Spurs are not one of those teams. However, what the Spurs lack in athleticism they make up for with ball movement and good shooting. I can't wait to see how this series unfolds.

I agree, it should be a good series, it'll be interesting to see if Miami has any answer for Parker. This team plays faster than past SA teams, that all starts with Parker.

Good series, quality performance from Indiana, but lack of consistency on offense was a problem this season and in the playoffs. They will be good again next year, and it should be a fun battle for the Central Division crown (assuming Rose decides to play :jimlad:).

As for the Miami SA series, I don't see SA winning, but I say that about SA a lot. Hopefully it is a close, well fought series. (and Manu and LeBron don't get in a flopping competition). I'll be cheering for SA, but won't be too disappointed if they fail to win. I do find it difficult to cheer against Tim Duncan.

I hate that LeBron flops, I hate that he pouts and whines to officials, I hate that he doesn't get technical fouls when he whines and complains, and I hate that he is on a team that isn't the one I cheer for.

But I hate the first three for a lot of NBA players. And the last one for a small handful.

Floyd Mayweather bet 5.9 million on the Heat in this game.

I wonder how high they had to go in the casino foodchain to ok that action.

For as much crap as Heat fans seem to get for being bandwagon, nobody seems to mention that every team playing the Heat has way more bandwagon fans, who just seem to complain about Heat fans being bandwagon fans. Strange huh?

Good to know that 99.9% of the Cyclone Fanatic message board are passionate Central Michigan fans. Never realized that's how it works.

Who is the most popular team in the state of Iowa? Probably Hampton.

The difference for me is that the best player on the planet has never been a flopper before. Selling calls when they get fouled going to score (Kobe, Jordan to a lesser degree) sure, but not falling down backwards with arms flailing like a baby with no or little contact then crying like a baby after this acting display. At this point most people have forgotten the championship rally before they played a game and the jerkoff tv special, most dislike him for his flopping antics. He's the most talented player (maybe athlete) ever, and he choses to flop when he doesn't even have to in order to get beneficial calls. Kobe was right when he asked him "where are your balls at?".

my only problem is everyone saying they are a heat fan. youre not a heat fan, you are a LBJ fan (which is fine). Nobody is a heat fan outside of Florida. Ive never noticed anyone wearing a glenn rice jersey or a harold miner jersey. It just goes against the rules of fandom.

As a Lakers fan that grew up with posters of Nick Van Exel and Cedric Ceballos on the wall, and someone who at the time highly criticized the decision to trade vlade divac for kobe bryant, this especially irriates me.

I think there's a difference between a passionate fan & a bandwagon fan. At least imo, few if any ISU fans were passionate Central Michigan fans. BUT, I did consider myself a bandwagon Central Michigan fan, at least for that day.

I cheer for every upset other than ISU and the Chicago Bulls (who I grew up a fan of as the closest team and where I've lived the last 13 years), don't specifically cheer for any other team other than upsets or especially upsets of teams I dislike. It never crossed my mind that I've been a bandwagon fans of the many 100s of upset winning teams I've cheered for over decades, some of whom I had never even heard of or thought about other than the day they pulled some upset.

Guess we have very different definitions. Now the people around me who are suddenly big hockey fans and big Chicago Blackhawks fans after usually not even seeming to be sports fans...that's what I consider a bandwagon type of fan. A tiny bit of me wants to tune in to start cheering for my local team/sport that looks to be cruising to a championship...but I can't lie to myself that I'm a hockey or Blackhawks fan.

Not to take a shot at us, but every long term ISU football gets the benefit of the doubt in this discussion, even ISU football fans somehow cheering for the Miami Heat to finish their 8peat. If they were huge front runners they'd be cheering for Ohio State, Oregon or some SEC team.
