DeAndre Kane visiting next week

You have to think Kane, Ejim, and Niang are for sure starters. Then it is just a question whether we want to go big or little. Armardi, Hougue, SDW, Monte, Thomas, Gibson. Two of you can start with them. Go out and prove your worthy. And that leaves 4 or 5 damn good back-ups, and 2 or 3 more very good players like Bubu that is Big 12 tested.

I'd have to say we are deeper than I've ever known.

While I am very happy that we got Kane, I think it should be known that he comes with some baggage. He has led the NCAA in technical fouls the last 2 years and he also had a incident with a fan of an opposing team and he spat in the fans face. I hope he can clean it up.

I don't believe he got a single T last year. Not saying the guy is a saint but lets be accurate. He has also had some pretty severe things happen to him as a young man that should at least be considered.

If he does that against Kansas and spits in Jayhawk fans face I will applaud him. Especially in Allen Field House.

I wouldn't mind seeing Man Man, Kane, Thomas, Ejim, Niang. Especially if Kane rebounding stays at that average. Got Gibson for beef off the bench and SDW as a darn good 6th man.

Reminds me of the Allen, Christopherson, Babb back court. That team had Royce and those three had their moments but overall pretty solid. Plus Morris is a true pg if I'm not mistaken which is something Allen didn't have.

I like our roster from top to bottom. Keep stuntin CFH.

Who has more technicals, him or Fran?

He was also charged with assault and battery 2 years ago. He went from leading the NCAA in technical for 2 seasons, to zero technical last season. Seems to me he did a lot of growing up over the last two years, and Im confident Hoiberg would of passed if that was not the case..

So, you got the news from an opposing team's message board.

FYI more accurate posts on this topic have been made and that Fred has yet to sign a felon.

I'd love that.
Monte Morris won Mr. Basketball for a reason. Then we have so many bench players to toy lineups with. Excited for Cap City to see what every one's game looks like.

Little possible insight on DeAndre Kane and why Pitt didn't work out. From The Des Moines Register's article on him committing.

“Things just didn’t work out (at Pitt),” Kane said. “It’s good for me to get away, because I know a lot of people (in Pittsburgh). Iowa State is a better fit for me.”

Looks like he was trying to get away from bad influences and maybe remove himself from a bad situation before it happened? Maybe it's a sign he's matured and *crosses fingers* *knocks on wood* won't cause any problems.

Here's the link to the story with some quotes from Kane.
