So, who is the unlucky Jayhawk who gets to come off the bench rather than start because of Wiggins? You have to think it is really a bummer for somebody who sees lots of their minutes evaporate in one press release.

Just out of curiosity, why exactly would I be terrified of a collegiate basketball team? I'm not in college and I sure as hell don't play on a team, so why exactly would I have an emotional response such as 'fear' of a team? It just doesn't make sense. I would categorize my feelings towards KU basketball as 'dislike', that feels more reasonable and justifiably sane from my point of view.
Well, some of us might actually wait until the games are played, to reach conclusions about whether we'll beat Kansas or not--and how many times.Kansas is going to be a top 10 team with or without Wiggins. We stood a better chance to beat them without Wiggins. Wiggins going to Kansas is not a good thing and anyone who thinks it is needs their head examined.
Self was talking specifically about an unsigned recruit on the radio? I guess that is only a problem for some coaches/schools.

Wonder how Wayne Selden feels. I'm sure he'll get plenty of time, but aren't they both 3's?
Boy will he be in for a rude awakening in Hilton. Headline after a the cyclone win, "Kansas Wigged out in Ames, Jayhawks Ice'd by Thomas 3 for win"
Next year IS 2014. Wiggens will be playing for KU. If he's one and done we'll have a shot in 2015. I mean, hey, I hope we beat them but it's just not a very realisitc chance next year with all of the youth. I'm still bullish on the program..I couldn't be happier just calling it like I see it.

I don't get people who are all upset about this. To me, the allure of playing and beating Kansas is playing and beating one of the best teams in the nation. Did it feel good to finally beat Texas in football? Yes. But in the back of your mind did you not realize we were celebrating beating one of Texas's worst teams in years?
I want Kansas to be as good as possible, because we always play them well and it will be a bigger deal if we win. I don't want to beat #20 ranked Kansas, I want a shot to beat top 5 Kansas.
Doesn't matter. Everyone sees that as beating a 5-7 team, not as beating a ranked team.Actually at the time of the game nobody saw that Texas team collapsing like they did. They were 4-2 and ranked 22nd.

They'll find time for him if he's as good as they say he is...wonder what their starting 5 will look like next year.
Here is my guess:
PG: Tharpe (JR)
SG: Selden (FR)
SF: Wiggins (FR)
PF: Ellis (SO)
C: Embid (FR)
Key Reserves:
Guards: Frankamp (FR), Greene (FR)
Post: Lucas (RSFR), Traylor (SO)
I'm not sure if Embid will actually start. He's a 5 star recruit, but he is a raw talent. So it could be that Traylor starts or maybe this Memphis transfer Black if we get him.
Without Wiggins, I'd guess that Frankamp would start at the 2 and Selden would play the 3 spot. But Frankamp will still get plenty of playing time. Maybe Greene is the one who will lose the most minutes.
According to this formula, this was KU's best recruiting class ever (or at least since they started ranking recruits 30 years ago) even before we landed Wiggins. With Wiggins, it is the 3rd best recruiting class ever by any team. Kentucky's 2013 class is rated #1, and UNC's 2006 class is rated #2.
I'm glad Iowa State is good again. Our games this past season were intense. Those bad calls at the end of the game in Ames overshadowed just what an incredible game that was. When I was a kid, my dad used to take me to all of KU's away games in the conference. Traveling to Hilton was always my favorite.
