My brother lives in Danvers. I don't ever remember hearing he had interest in the Boston Marathon.

Watching video, it's hard to see because of flags and barriers, but it appears that sidewalk was packed. You can see people running away from the explosion

I also have a nephew that lives close to Harvard, and my daughter was at Harvard last summer, before she moved to India.

I used to think that the first media reports in these things were likely overstated, but in the latest tragedies it sure seems like the media has been conservative in their reporting. I'm thinking especially of Newtown which started off with only a few injured and then went to dozens.

An eye witness reported seeing 30 people with limbs missing. Hopefully that is someone who is in shock and thought he saw more than he did.

You really have to wonder how several devices got into a building at such a critical point. Sweeping and securing those building should be anti-terrorism 101

Not that hard to imagine considering the many ways you can get around in a city, even when things are blocked off.

saying it happened about an hour after the first runners crossed the line - found the stats for my coworker and he finished 69 minutes after the winner. I heard somebody say he was ok though. How scary, I hope none of his family were hurt.

People are such monsters sometimes :(

Now CBS is reporting a "security issue" at the White House :/

Edit: I'm sure it's just a precaution but still..

What I was thinking too. I'm seeing much more updates and breaking news from here/twitter (taken with a grain of salt obviously). News agencies are being much more conservative with what they are officially reporting.

secondary devices mean taht this attack was meant to catch the first responders to the scene as well as those in the initial attack.
