Walking Dead

Here's a couple questions:

If you just watched the Governor gun down all of your friends and you had an AK47 pointed at him, would you just freakin stand there waiting to get shot? Do you think he's just going to put his gun down and let you take him prisoner or something? The guy is going to freaking kill you, shoot hit.

Oh, and if you are following a band of people who just attacked you with tons of guns, would you drive up, park 10 feet away and take your time sauntering up to check it out? If I saw those trucks parked in the middle of the road I would stop right away, back up and hide my vehicle off the side of the road and sneak up to try and figure out whats going on so I don't get ambushed.

So is Rick and the Gang...and now woodberry people are just going to live at the prison? Or be back and forth between Woodberry and the Prison for supplies?

I liked it overall. Would've been nice to get some closure with the Governor storyline, but surely we will see him again. Can't believe none of his people were smart enough to shoot him when he went on that rampage.

I am thinking they are just staying at the prison.

My guess is that they didn't think they could control the Woodbury perimeter with so few able bodies people.

The cynic in me thinks it's kind of dumb to bring in all of the old people and children though. It makes the group weaker.

Something is going to force them out of the prison, probably next season and they will lose a bunch of the new people I am thinking.

I think the battle of the prison is still coming. Not sure why they didnt bring it to the finale this year. Kind of stupid in my mind, but I guess if they can start the season off next year with it and make the rest of the season about their movement out thats fine. Although, the governor doesnt have much help anymore.

It's a new world, and if you're interested in survival, you've got to keep building your group. Elders and children can plant and tend crops. Then again, who even knows how to plant crops when you can't go down to the hardware store and pick up some seed packets?

It seems to me that the show would deal a little more with the cultural changes brought about by the apocalypse. I would expect militarization to happen as the people learn to defend themselves from the zombies. The organization of the group would of necessity become more hierarchical. I'd almost expect a culture similar to Sparta to arise, with combat training becoming a daily rigor.

Also... how the hell do you let anyone move away from the group alone? When all it takes is a bite or a scratch to contract the plague, don't you at all times require a minimum of two people to do anything, just to make sure? I'd also expect that any time someone does come back alone, the group would check them for bites and scratches.

Life goes on, and the survivors would have learn to adapt. It seems to me that for the most part, they are not adapting.

I hope future seasons show them getting smarter and not making the same mistakes over and over.

It seems like the smartened up some with their prison ambush, even if Carl was the only one to actually land a shot. They were still smart enough not to take a larger force head on.

Agreed on that - I paused the show and mentioned that to my wife while it was going on.

That guy (along with his son ben, who got killed in the last episode) was kind of a ****** though. Wasnt sad to see him get killed.

I think that they will try to connect everyone now too through Andrea's death... have a nice funeral for her, etc... Tying the groups together at the beginning of the new season.

The Govoner and his loyal goons will work on "stealth missions" trying to extract revenge on rick and the group. Perhaps picking off people at random times.

I also hope for some flashbacks too - explaining when the outbreak happend occurs too/some of the survivors accounts on that issue. Why? How? type of things coming up possibly? Looking for a cure? Word on a cure out there? Things like that...

Yeah it would be too easy for him to just take a wide open shot from 10 feet away to kill the Gov. It has to be a big showdown.

I am hoping that they open up some new plotlines early next season and get back to the governor later.

I'm curious what other large groups have formed. It's natural for people to group together and there has to be other groups in the world.

I like the show, but the writers really should consider hiring a "Common Sense Consultant" to help them out.

First, I'm sick of seeing Daryl rolling around on his loud-*** chopper. Seriously. I mean, sure, it looks way badass. But, use a little bit of common sense. That thing would be a walker magnet & it's also not exactly the best mode of transportation when you are trying to stealthily track the Gov. & his henchmen back to Woodbury.

Second, Andrea in the chair. Stop chatting with Milton. I know, it's sad that he's sitting there in a pool of his own blood, slowly dying. But get the freakin' pliers and get yourself out of that chair. You know it's horribly stupid & unrealistic when the writers have to give the bleeding-out nerd character a line to instruct Andrea to "hurry". Of course Andrea was blond, maybe we're just supposed to believe that she's not capable of working with pliers and talking to Milton simultaneously.

These are just a couple of examples from last night's episode. But I feel like there at least a couple of moments in most episodes where you have to willingly suspend disbelief and it's starting to take away from my enjoyment of the show. And if somebody is going to come back with a, "You are complaining about a zombie apocalypse show being unrealistic?" retort. Just don't.

Someone on the talking dead made a good point in the fact that you have all these old people what if one of them does in their sleep and turns and kills some people?

Carl was talking about how one action led to an unwanted result. He didn't kill te zombie in the swamp that killed Dale. He mentioned Rick didn't kill someone that killed mom. Did I hear that right? Did we know the walker that ate Lori?

Yeah. To get around that, you basically have to lock people in their cells at night and have a guard do a bedcheck/lock check.

That would lead to problems if they were ever attacked as well, since everyone would be trapped in their cells.

There aren't a lot of good choices to make in their situation.
