This is not correct. Both Wisconsin and Michigan voted against NU for AAU while Texas (and Big 12 teams) voted for them.

Emails: Wisconsin and Michigan opposed Nebraska's AAU membership : The Lincoln Journal Star Online
well the final votes are confidential this was the comittee vote (nebby said they are hopeful they were with them in the final vote). But i am not disagreeing on the texas part i just said they think that. Nebby clearly insuaded a fix was in punishing them and syracuse for switching confrences early. Probably true that it didnt help them with some voting members. Iowa state voted for nebby too as part of the land grant intrests. I do think the big 10 sees value in having a large voting block on theire intrests though and even with those no votes that was still 10 of the 17 yes votes nebby recieved. So of the 50 + non B1G aau schools only 7 voted to keep nebby but 10 of 12 B1G members vote for them and you say that they arent voting togethor?... and all i was saying was there is strength in numbers. Nebby benifitted from getting B1G support it just wasnt enough.

Beebe is back

Big East adds Butler, Xavier and Creighton to Catholic 7, signs 12-year deal with Fox - The Washington Post

The scheduling of next season’s conference games will be worked out under the supervision of former Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe, who has been retained as a consultant while a search for a permanent commissioner is under way. But Thompson said that a home-and-home series among all 10 members is likely next year, as the logical format for a 10-team league.

You can't keep a good UT planner down.

Was standing right next to bob bowlsby as he was getting some water from the concession stand in dayton on Friday (yeah would think he would have someone to get that for him). Wanted to ask him about expansion instead just said "go clones" which garnered a very iowa "you bet".

Well we have Tulsa to the Old Big East we have Idaho and New Mexico St to the Sun Belt and Appalachian St and Georgia Southern to SunBelt after the transition period

New Mexico State and Idaho hanging onto FBS against the odds! Especially Idaho.

Tulsa was expected. At first it was a joke but now truly Big East is old CUSA, CUSA is old Sun Belt, Sun Belt is former FCS and misfits.

Appalachian is HOT HOT HOT!

I'm not sure if the idea has ever been thrown out there in this thread, Ohio be a potential candidate for the Big XII? They have had recent success in football and basketball (albeit in the MAC), they have 35,000 enrollment. From what I can find, their facilities could use some improvement (especially the football stadium), but I think it has a small potential. Add Cincinnati in with that and we gain a decent footing in Ohio and give WVU someone closer.

south seems to be the way to grow, given population predictions.

Yeah asked a buckeye who is a vet that I sat by at the game what the deal was with Ohio and how osu got so the big etc. He said ohio is big just not athletically (ut they throw a mean hallowween party). He said because they arent the land grant, med school, law school etc. And they arent a research institution just a liberal arts college they never were attractive to the big conferences early on and ohio just didnt split those like man others did basically they are a ohio's UNI and osu is like a combined Iowa and Iowa State.

Why does anyone find the Dude and MHver3 entertaining?

This isn't rhetorical. I actually want to know why people find other people passing completely made up lies as fact on the internet entertaining. Especially when the idea is that this stuff is supposed to be true and not a joke.

For the same reason people like to talk about possible rosters for future seasons. The joke is on those who are so bothered by the Dude and MHver3. People who cannot handle the burden being a responsible reader should avoid the Dude and MHver3.

No. Its completely different than discussing possible rosters. We know which players are on the team, we know which players the staff is recruiting. You can make legitimate speculation out of those two knowns.

The Dude and Mhver3 just make **** up to stroke their egos, and people eat it up. When you're speculating about Big 12 Expansion, at this point there are no knowns. Everything is 100% hypothetical.

If there were supposed "insiders" on this board who were relentlessly spewing complete falsehoods about whether or not a recruit was coming to ISU, people would run them right out for being idiots. Yet in the case of these clowns people find it entertaining.
