CFTV: Emotional Georges Niang addresses media after game

This son of a ***** is the epitome of what being a Cyclone is all about. You lay it ALL out there no matter what for your teammates, school, and fans and you never quit, EVER. We as a fanbase never give up (most of us), we realize where we have been and appreciate where we are (most of us). Its nice to have players feel the same way.

Georges will be the heart and soul of this program for the next three years. Put enough talent around him, and he will take this program to some very special places.

On another note, I think we will be seeing him run some of the plays they used for RW to exploit his talents further.

Georges was absolutely right in how he played that. You cannot let that kid drive by you. Of the shot options to give up, that was the one we wanted.

Exactly right. Georges played that perfect. Craft is not a threat at all from deep. Niang could not have risked getting blown by on the drive there. He has no reason to apologize for anything he's done this year. The kid is an absolute beast. I love him.

Best of all, you never heard him feel bad for himself in that interview. He only felt bad for his teammates. You can't ask for a better kid or teammate than that. He cares more about others than himself. What a great player. Can't wait to watch him again next year!

Niang played it like he should have, Craft got a call in the end and then hit a shot he rarely hits. Pick your head up Niang we love ya man and your teammates. You all have helped so much that we cannot thank you enough.

I hope that all of you ****s who wrote off this game with ten minutes to go watch this video. Note where he says "People have been doubting us all year" and think about the stupid **** you wrote today. If you're really a Cyclone, then you are All In, and doubt never enters the picture. You ****s disgust me.

Evidently he is. That was the right play though.

This is the calmest I have ever been watching us in a tournament because I had a lot of confidence in our team before the tournament. At the beginning it was not pretty, but it all came together like peanut butter and jelly. Next year will be fun, but this year was fun as well.

We will be a force to recon with going forward count on it.

So I'm watching Gearges' video with my 5 year old boy. The boy says, "It's OK to cry, but he shouldn't be crying. He should be proud of himself." The boy is so right.

That's about the sweetest thing I've read today.

I appreciate that it means so much to these guys that they tear up---Georgies, Korie, Fred.

That dude has heart.
He's owning responsibility even on a play where he did everything right.

No he didn't. why was he guarding him anyway. The ohio State kid could of raced around georges anytime he wanted. besides, why was Niang playing so far away from a man 6" shorter than he? hell he held the ball for 30 seconds or so never moving just focusing on the basket while George played back away from him. Then the kid stops dribbling and jumps and pops a three pointer with NO pressure on him. Niang makes a desperate attempt to put pressure on him but the ball was GONE!!!TERRIBLE defense. then we all justify it by saying he has heart? I wish right now he had a little less heart and more speed and better defense. IB

Clueless.

He played a kid that can barely shoot like he was a kid who could barely shoot. Craft made a shot that you can count on him to miss 75% of the time since conference play began, and you're going with that. Good criticism.

Dude, watch Hoiberg's interview after the game...he said they were trying to keep Craft out of the lane on that last possession because that's where he's the most dangerous...that was their plan which is why Niang was playing off of him...

Niang has so much passion if he and CPR got together and started talking it would just sound like the ISU Fight song to non ISU fans!
