Can our coach be anymore of a stud?

I said I don't care that he can shoot. Not that he could ever shoot. He made a career out of being a shooter but if he could no longer shoot tomorrrow it wouldn't matter.

oh lighten up. its kind of fun and makes a person smile.

Competent officiating makes me smile.

poor guy....you must never smile:)

It has been a ****** week. I am better than I used to be at letting Iowa State sports stuff go, but every once in a while there is one that sticks with me for a crazy long time. The last game that I was like this was the last football game against Nebraska.

I will feel better after our next win, if the players are able to bounce back and play hard on Saturday, and if this wasn't the game that keeps Iowa State out of the NCAA. If we are right around the first 4 or next 4 out, I will take that freaking game through the entire offseason.

Or even throughout the entire coming season, or even through the coming 2-3 years.

I feel like you are mocking me, but that is strangly close to the truth. :) I told my Dad Tuesday, that this was always going to be one of those games we talk about.

Swishing a one-handed three is not that hard to do at all.

Fred's FT competition he won as a coach last year or the year before was mighty impressive though. Those were just crazy numbers he was shooting.

I wasn't mocking you.

Good lord, what's with all the sourpusses today? If CFH walked on the moon, I'm sure someone on this board would say "pfft, that's been done before; call me when he walks on Mars".

Have you played any basketball in your life? Shooting one handed is no big deal. At least it shouldn't be if you are using correct shooting form.

I coached 5th and 6th grade boys basketball and I made my kids do a drill where they stood about 8 feet from the hoop and HAD to shoot with only one hand. It teaches you to shoot the ball correctly. It forces you to put your elbow underneath the shooting hand in a straight line. And it also forces you to put the correct rotation on the ball too. The opposite hand is only on the side of the ball for support, it's not really needed.

Most likely Fred shot one-handed 3's in practice all the time. It is a good way to correct any bad form you might have.

Now if he had stepped out there and made 5 straight 3's one-handed, that would be pretty good.

This.

I can hit one handed threes, and I play D-league intramural basketball.

I'm kind of in the camp that it may help with some refs and hurt with others. Larry was pretty aggressive, but I sure don't remember getting more than our share of calls.

The debacle against Kansas took me back to the KU 3 pointer between free throws during the Wayne Morgan years. Wayne wasn't afraid to get in a ref's ear (admitted, not to the LE level) and did after that shot. And yet, it still counted. And I doubt it affected how they reffed the 2nd half.

Some of the posters on here need to let go of the showing emotion, etc.

Did you seriously just type probably 150 words about how easy it is to shoot a one-handed three point shot, just to poo-poo CFH? Damn, that stick must be seriously lodged up your ***.

Nope. I really don't care. Just thought I'd share why it really isn't that big of a deal.
