DB Nigel Tribune commits

Uh oh....here they come...the Sunshine and Rainbows Jihad!!!

Relax francis...... Dont take yourself so seriously chief.

Nobody is bashing the coaches or staff.....but yes...would be nice to hit some bigger recruits.

I'm far from a sunshine pumper, but I do think I have more a level headed view on our athletics then numerous posters here do. It's kind of nice having a grasp on reality.

I ran an electric timed 4.6 in high school so he is slow for a corner.
Yet, he is going to play division 1 football....and you are not....This is not the Oakland Raiders, speed isn't the only measurable of a football player.....That's a pretty shallow assumption for a philosophy major...

I don't see anyone saying that, but it's pretty disappointing that we can't gain any momentum in recruiting given what CPR has been able to do with ISU. We have 7 recruits with 2 BCS offers between them. That is pretty much the historical norm in FB recruiting for ISU.

We have to win more games. Plain and simple. If we are recruiting against anyone with more history and a better climate, at this point, we are going to lose. I'm sure CPR is a big selling point, but until we start getting to 7 and 8 wins regularly, it's tough to get kids to buy in. No matter how much pub we are getting, outside of our immediate fanbase, we aren't a big deal at all. This is how it has to be done, imo. We go after the kids we think are strong that no one else is looking at. These are our easy targets imo, kids we know we can get.

It's a long road, one that isn't going to turn around over night. We have to start winning more games every season, get to a point where a 6 win season is a disappointment and then we can start complaining about recruiting stars.

He'll at least be a 2* by the time the dust settles. Same as:

Collin Bevins (who Shane was raving about)
T.J. Mutchershon (who Rhoads said could be our best safety that he's had)
David Irving
Jevohn Miller
Aaron Horne
Tom Farniok
Albert Gary
CJ Morgan
Deon Broomfield
Jake Knott
Josh Lenz
Jacques Washington

Just for a few examples.

And these are why we ended 6-7.

I like what Rhoads has done so far, but we have to start winning more than 6 games. If we continue to only win 5 or 6 games a year for the next 4 or 5 years then Rhoads will be shown the door, or he will just leave him self.

They are? It has nothing to do with playing a top 10 schedule every year? Or a coaching staff still trying to build a program that has been at the bottom forever?

A lot of those guys listed have barely been through one whole season.

I think we need more 3 and 4 star posters on this board. Not the scrubs who take up most of the bandwidth.

I timed him at 4.37
I think it was a typo.

Would you rather have 1-10 seasons with very little momentum in the program, or bowl appearances 2 of the last 3 years with momentum building? Rome wasn't built in a day, and it sures as hell is going to take longer to build ISU to at least Byzantium like proportions. You know, pretty important, but not as important as Rome.

Exactly, by ISU standards, Rhoads is a Hall of Fame coach for sure. For the rest of the country, we're just another run of the mill team hoping for a bowl spot. The fact that the OSU game is being considered one of the biggest upsets of all time says a lot of where this program still is. Great exposure yes, but until people start saying, "Well, ISU did it again and beat another top ranked team." it really doesn't mean anything other than a crazy upset.

Nice touch---I've heard Chris is running out of gas....

Think before you overreact. Of course it's because we're playing a top 10 schedule every year. Those teams are loaded with 4 star talent. Stands to reason that zero-three star recruits get you .500 seasons.

At this point I guess I am encouraged if we sign someone with a Rivals page, let alone stars.

Nigel Tribune: Hello?
CPR: Hi Nigel, this is Paul Rhoads from Iowa State University. Was wondering if you would like to play defensive back for us this year
NT: Goddamit Tolburg, I'm hungover, my knees hurt and if you are going to pull this **** at least you could say you were from Oklahoma

This thread sucks. Alot of potential recruits read this board, it would be nice if the first few pages of every commitment thread weren't filled with complaints and stupid jokes about CPR running out of gas. Oh, and the obligatory complaints about a 40 meter dash time (that probably isn't even accurate) from people who probably think playstation times are real instead of the much slower and realistic times you see at the NFL combine.

By your logic, Texas should never lose.

And about the OSU game, yeah, winning that game and finally forcing a change in BCS rules absolutely should consider it one of the great upsets regardless of what the rest of the country thinks of Iowa State.

I give your posting skills no stars.

You never cease to amaze me.
