NBA: Playoff Time

Round 1: Argentina vs. USA

I'd have to give it to Argentina for also managing to throw up what appears to be a jump shot as they are flopping backwards.

It depends how you judge it. If you're going for over the top crazy European soccer player flopping, then the south americans, euros and LeBron are the best.

If you go for players who actually fake it the best, successfully deceive the refs, and still get the call then Fisher is the best ever by a mile. Most of his flops don't look like huge flops live, but on replay they always are obvious. At some point you just accept that any time Fisher tries to take a charge its some level of flop.

wow, fix might be in on this one folks.

3-4 obvious Miami fouls not called, then they call a Boston foul on what's usually a jump ball

I actually think Miami's been officiated well so far in the playoffs, this first half is a bit of a joke though.

Miami ahead by two at half playing with an 8 on 5 advantage.

Gotta give that half to Boston as far as actually playing basketball goes.

Lakers aren't playing, their is no fix. Only the Lakers get the calls. Even this years playoffs, they just didn't have the talent to overcome the fix.

I think they called it correct. The Boston guy dove on the back of the Heats guy.

Magic fan.

What's that got to do with anything? I've live in Chicago for 11 years. I'm supposed to be a jerkoff Miami bandwagoner or I can't comment on an obvious slanted officiating job?

Sorry but any rational person saw a 4-5 point swing gifted to Miami by the officials in that first half. If you don't see that, your basketball opinions are pretty worthless.

I didn't mean to distract from the Fisher hate. I hate that guy, especially the flopping and that goofy-looking jumper.

They were certainly the beneficiaries of the most obvious fix ever. In that Kings series the people who thought it was on the level were the conspiracy theorists.

No it's a great point, there are two distinct schools of flopping.

There's the Vlade Divac cartoon character school of flopping (Omer Asik is of that discipline). LeBron is embracing this style more every year.

Then there's the Fisher style where it's more about how much explosion he can fabricate flying backwards. That style looks less girly because it's not about arms flailing all over the place. I think it's more effective in actually manipulating the game.

Boston decided to make a game of it. I think they'd have to feel pretty good about where they stand right now. Is Wade going to show up? Someone's gonna have to explain how he's letting a cripple hold him to 6 points.
