NBA: Playoff Time

They said on the TV last night that Ibaka is one of 18 children. So the lesson is that if you have enough children, one of them will eventually will play in the NBA...

I think I took the right lesson from that.

Lebron's problem in Cleveland was he was too good too early. He carried his team to the playoffs and they weren't able to stock the roster with early picks. Durant didn't carry his team to wins early and they got the #4 pick Westbrook and then the #3 pick Harden. Same problem Rose has now.

Great post. OKC drafted both Westbrook and Harden and although they are great now they were rough around the edges as rookies. OKC has done a great job of drafting good young talent and molding them into superstars. Cleveland I believe tried everything they could. If they had gotten Amare instead of an over the hill Shaq, I think he could of won in Cle. The drafting Cle did after getting LBJ was the joke.

Hey things can always change. I used to feel the same way about Kobe that I do about Lebron. I still don't care for Kobe, but I respect him as a player. There will never be another MJ, but Kobe is probably the closest thing to him. Like I said I had no problem with LBJ in Cle, and actually had no problem with him taking the easy way out and leaving to team with DW and CB. It's the way it was done. The whole "Decision" program and smoke filled "WWE" like press conference counting titles before you have even played a game was pathetic. I want to see the Lebron "fans" defend that. Also like has been mentioned before his flopping has got to stop, Vlade thinks LBJ's flop's are out of control and soccer players think his reactions to contact are over the top. If he ever does put it together and wins one, I'll tip my cap just like I did when Kobe won his.

As for the actual topic of the thread. Well done SA, they are the perfect mix of veterans and youth. I think it will be SA over OKC in 5. Indiana really messed up losing yesterday. I'm hoping by saying this it will be reverse psychology, but I think Miami will take the series now.

Wish he was still in the playoffs, but check who I just ran into at the grocery store:

ASIK AND DESTROY!

I'm 5'10"...obviously safe to say that's a legit 7'

Congrats to OKC. Time for the NBA Finals er I mean the Western Conference Finals. Also nice to have an all central time zone Western Conference Finals. The Red River Shootout goes professional!

Very Cool. Did you just do a picture or did you get to chat for a minute or 2?

I didn't want to bother him too much, I just said "hey Omer can you take a photo" and then told him I'm a big fan and good season, he seemed pretty happy to take a photo. He's a lot bulkier up close than he looks on TV, looking at his arm/hand next to me shows it.

He was with another guy speaking whatever-they-speak-in-Turkey. The guy he was with was a good 6'9" but older looking, had to be some sort of relative.

I'm not sure how good his English is. Very cool to meet a pro athlete. Omer had too carry quite a load when Noah went down. He looked very drained at the end of game 6.

Congrats to OKC. My wife is an OKC fan, and we are going up to OK for the Memorial Day weekend, so I will have to take my lumps.

Here's hoping the Lakers do some house cleaning. This was the second year in a row where Pau Gasol disappeared during the playoffs. He seems like a real nice guy and does well during the regular season, but the Lakers need more than 12 ppg out of that position during the playoffs. Kobe basically begged him to take on more scoring. Might be time for him to give it a try somewhere else. It also wouldn't hurt if Kupchack could arrange for the Lakers to have a point guard and a credible bench for next season.

It would be great if we ended up with an Indiana vs. SA/OKC finals. For some reason I always think it's great when none of the big market teams make it to the finals.

It's not like he didn't try. I'm definitely not a Lakers fan, but they did kind of get screwed with the whole Chris Paul fiasco before the season started.

I agree about Chris Paul. But the bench (aside from Odom) has been weak for two years now. Starters have to play too many minutes.

Huge game in Miami tonight. It's a tossup the way I see it. Lebron and Wade can't possibly combine for 70 points in back to back games...right?
