Yes he did. Bad call to try that there.

Not 100% on the rules, but most of the time in basketball, you aren't considered past the line until your feet land...

Maybe lane violations are different, but I assume it isn't a violation unless your feet land in the lane before it hits the rim.

How much better can it get!!?!?!??! Iowa State will either lose against the Champs or have won against the Champs! I love it.

Wait, I thought this is the least Kansas team ever.....Those were the excuses in their losses and yet they are playing for a national championship...

I tried replaying it over and over on the DVR to determine if he left early. From my understanding of the rules you're not over the line til you step IN the lane. And on multiple replays it was incredibly close.

Split second call. I'm couldn't say for sure that it was the right or wrong call.

Shooter cannot leave the line until the ball hits the rim.

Bill self is wizard, taking an average Kansas team to the finals, hope they win and let big12 rule over all

Easy call as per the rules

Rule 9(1)(2)(c): The free-thrower shall not break the vertical plane of the free-throw line with either foot until the ball strikes the ring

Not to be confused with the other players surrounding the lane as per Rule 9(1)(2)(h): Players occupying any of the legal marked lane spaces on each side of the lane may break the vertical plane of a lane-space boundary once the free- thrower has released the ball

Exactly, how the heck does he do it. I can't stand KU but I stand impressed with his coaching skills. No way Haith should be coach of year over Self.

Woo hooo! I'd never have thought in a million years at the beginning of this season KU would be playing in the final game of the season for a national championship.

GO JAYHAWKS GO!!

Basically, it's the Asheville call and the Chris Allen call al over again. No excuse for Craft not to know that one.

Bingo. I guess the question is at what point you are considered in the lane. Is it when your foot lands in the lane or when you merely cross the lane boundary?

Looks to me like his foot came down after the ball hit the rim. Either way, he has to be aware of this rule and make sure he doesn't get that call.

Vertical plane means from the line up to the ceiling.

In that case, clearly a violation.
