Tiger Woods - Arnold Palmer Invitational

Who the **** is this Phil you're talking about who isn't an arrogant *** and has a positive attitude? It sure as hell isn't Mickelson or you've never seen him golf because he's a bigger ********* than Tiger is.

And golf, without a doubt, is at its best when Tiger is at the top of the leaderboard.

Mostly because the media SAYS it is at its best.

Does it really matter WHY it's true? Tiger playing well is good for golf. There's a reason it was floundering with Phil as its flag bearer, and took off when Tiger came on the scene.

Tigers "gallery" looked promising this last weekend. Looks like Tiger won because he was back to his old tricks...well maybe they are new.

its just funny that he gets "hurt" so often during the middle of a bad round. Maybe he if he didn't load up on roids or HGH the past decade his body would have held up better.....he is only 36, people talk like he is 60.

Did you ever think maybe he was having a bad round because he was hurt?

Besides that you cant have it both ways. Either his body is shot or he is using it as an excuse. You have said both.

You need to pay more attention. Phil is an *** hole.

Tiger's Impact On Golf Ratings - SportsCenter.com

You'll probably be able to find stats that shows Dale Jr's impact on NASCAR's ratings, too! I obviously am in the minority, but my viewership of a sprint cup race is higher when Dale Jr is trailing, just like my viewership is much higher when Tiger is sucking. Once either of the media darlings starts doing well, I'm done with watching the event and out doing yard work.

I just don't see many other athletes making such a big deal about their injuries.

So, basically you watch more golf when Tiger is struggling. In one way or the other, Tiger is drawing you to the TV for ratings, correct? You don't really watch golf for the sport, but rather because of how Tiger is doing?
His effect on tv ratings is so big that even the people who hate him will watch him, even when he is playing like crap.

Very good! You are correct. Just like NASCAR, or the Hogeyes...I watch as long as Tiger, Dale Jr., and the Hogeyes are doing poorly. Once they start doing well, I switch to something else or shut it off.

The ratings are higher when Tiger is doing well. People will then watch to see what great shot he pulls out ('04 Masters), or see if he'll collapse. Regardless, Tiger playing well is better for the sport.

But, since YOU, as an individual, don't fit into that obviously over-simplified category, the PGA and the media will forever banish Tiger. For the sake of the game, because it's much better without him.

Now that's just silly. I clearly admitted that I was the minority. Just voicing my opinion. I DO watch golf more when Tiger is playing but only when he is playing poorly, always hoping to see a meltdown.

And I'm willing to bet way more people tune in when he's playing well, always hoping to see something great happen. It's better for golf when he's playing well than when he's playing poorly.

Then you and I would be on the same side of that bet. My point is that I will be tuning out, when others are tuning in.
