Tiger Woods - Arnold Palmer Invitational

Tiger could become scary good right now. He is driving ball outstanding and is now making putts like he used to. Problem with Tigers game before was his control, he has that part of his game down now. Watch out because he seems to have every aspect of the game now. I really think that he can do a lot of damage cause he is playing the best he has in his life.

I think you've gotten a little ahead of yourself with that one.

ummmm......just like he did a couple weeks ago when he won and Tiger was making his run? Rory is not scared of Tiger, like Phil or everyone else was last decade. Tiger is playing very well, but the competition is a lot different from 5-10 years ago.

Haha, we will see when it actually gets tight. A couple weeks ago, Tiger was way ahead of him on the course and Rory had a nine shot lead going into the final round. That's not at all similar to playing with him. Let's see how he does when he is around Tiger on the course and Tiger is playing well before we say he isn't scared.

This... Rory shut Tiger down!!!

No he didn't. Tiger never took the lead. He ran out of holes and ROry knew that was going to happen.

We will see, who did Tiger have to fend off yesterday? Ernie Els who is about 10 years past his prime, McDowell who displayed one of the worst putting performances in recent history yesterday?

Tiger will be fine in 2 weeks at Augusta, because that is his course, he can be awful and go to Augusta and be in the top 10. Not going to be shocked if he wins because he owns that course and he is playing well. But we noticed he was limping again after his press conference last night, so i don't think his health is 100%. His body is shot and has maybe a 2-3 year window to win, so he better get it together to even sniff Jack's record.

When Tiger made his little run a couple weeks ago, its his fault that he was 7 strokes back.......in addition in the past if someone else was in the lead and heard the crowds go crazy for Tiger they would have melted. Rory had a big lead (which he built by playing 4 good rounds) he played another solid round with lots of pars and sprinkled in a few birdies.

I would like to root for Tiger, but everytime i get a little excited to watch him he pulls off some stupid stunt. Oh i snapped hooked a 5 iron in the lake, i'm +3 for the day, i better leave mid-round leaving your playing partner to play by himself - that's bush league. If he was hitting the ball better he would have stayed and finished the round, he's a big baby and only cares about himself.

This... Rory shut Tiger down!!!

Rory didn't "shut Tiger down" Tiger started the day way beyond reach of the lead and made a run. Rory shot a couple of strokes under to win. But it wasn't shutting him down and they weren't golfing together. I'm not saying Rory would back down if he golfed with Tiger but to say he shut him down a couple of weeks ago is just not right.

Yeah because being conscious of your health when you're his age is just awful. Why would anyone do that? If you listened to his interview after he said a couple years ago he may have stuck that out but that's not him anymore. Had he been winning he probably would have stuck it out, but he wasn't so why should he risk further injury when he's got nothing to lose? Also did it ever occur to you that playing with an injury can affect your game?

its just funny that he gets "hurt" so often during the middle of a bad round. Maybe he if he didn't load up on roids or HGH the past decade his body would have held up better.....he is only 36, people talk like he is 60.

1. HGH actually strengthens your tendons and ligaments, so that they can handle the strain of more muscle mass. For the results of not doing this, look no further than Barry Bonds' arm injury in '99.

2. 36 year old athletes do have a tendency to get hurt more. And injuries can often lead to a bad round. He'd stick it out if he were in contention (see the 2008 U.S. Open). But if you're not playing well, why keep pushing and risk further injury?

This! It's no different than an athlete not finishing a game because they are hurt when they are either losing very badly or winning by a lot.

Tiger winning is good for golf and will provide some good drama, but until he wins a major he is not back.

Tiger losing is also good for golf, because there are many people like me who cheer against him and watch golf more when Tiger is sucking or is "injured". When I see Tiger is in the lead, I change the channel because I can't stand to watch his arrogant attitude. When Tiger was winning all the time, it was like watching basketball and seeing Duke win all the time...nobody but Duke fans like that. I like seeing Phil, Rory, etc. have their victories.

Tiger losing was not good for golf from a tv ratings standpoint. So many more people tuned into golf when Tiger is doing well or in the final pairing. If he is in the final group on Sunday during the Masters, ratings could be at an all time high.

Obviously, not everybody feels this way but there are a lot more people that will tune in to watch Tiger whether they like him or not.

I have to admit I'm in love with Rory's swing... I'm a fairly good golfer myself, but his swing is beautiful :wubclub:

I just relish watching golf when Tiger is struggling. I like to see him whine and complain, and if playing poorly enough, claim an "injury". Phil has a positive attitude and is not an arrogant a _ _.

A.B.T. is my motto...Anybody But Tiger is who I cheer for.

Who the **** is this Phil you're talking about who isn't an arrogant *** and has a positive attitude? It sure as hell isn't Mickelson or you've never seen him golf because he's a bigger ********* than Tiger is.

And golf, without a doubt, is at its best when Tiger is at the top of the leaderboard.

On camera yes. But, behind camera I've heard from numerous people that he's pretty arrogant and cocky.

There are stories floating around out there about how Phil is only the "good guy" when the cameras are around. I've heard for years that this was the case. Whereas what I've heard about Tiger is the opposite. Sure, he's an *** on the course. I wasn't exactly the most pleasant person to be around when I was focused on winning, either. Doesn't mean he's a bad guy off the course (I mean that in terms of how personable he is with people off the course, not in terms of his character).

Never seen Mickelson act like Woods.
