NBA Draft Projections

The question I have is this mock draft does not have any players from overseas on the list. The last few drafts I have paid attention to have had 10-12 players from Europe in the first round. Are they all going to disappear this year?

They could easily push RW out of the first round.

I would pick Draymond Green in early first round over many of those young potential based players. Draymond Green is pretty similar to Royce who can do just about everything. Royce has more power and better game facilitating skills, Green can shoot from 5/10ft and 3s. If RW learns consistent 5/10 ft jumpers, he is unstoppable.

I will be shocked if Draymond Green ever contributes much in the NBA. GREAT college player. GREAT! But I don't think he translates at all to the NBA

That's what was said about Tyler Hansbrough but now he's around a 12 & 6 guy in the NBA....

It is my gut feeling that Royce will decide to come back.. I believe Royce said that he came here to win a NCAA championship and next years team has that potential. He has a tough decision but luckily he has a coach that will have his best interest and knowledge of the NBA for him to make a calculated and intelligent decision. Good luck Royce in your future.

Some people said that about Tyler but not as much. Tyler was still a lottery pick where most people have Green as a fringe first round talent.

I love Green and his game. He just reminds me to much of an Alando Tucker. Dominate and lead a team in college but be a classic tweener

if white comes back, he will only raise his stock, possibly to a lottery pick. He has a chance to really make a run in the Ncaa's as well....hopefully he decides to stay......still has unfinished business here in ames

Fred disagrees. He said yesterday that Royce won't really raise his stock by coming back. He'd be 4 years removed from high school if he came back. He's gone.

Just did some quick research. Against teams with NBA talent down low (Ohio State, UNC, and Duke), Draymond Green Shot 25 for 83 from the field (30%). That's not good.

Royce White? Against Baylor, Kansas, UCONN, and Kentucky shot 38 for 66 (57%)

Against NBA talent White has shown to be a MUCH better prospect than Draymond Green.

I think the important thing is what the OP stated, Royce went from no mention, to a first round pick immediately after his exposure in the NCAA.

What the rest of the world is learning is what we've already known

There is no doubt in my mind White would be drafted higher in the 2013 draft simply due to the draft class being weaker.

That's good, except that he didn't say that. He said that it wasn't certain either way on that. Check cyclonepride's posts on that interview. He was accurate all day with that.

Right now, we don't know that Fred agrees or disagrees. The way that man keeps his cards close to the vest, we won't know until he wants us to know.

Just got updated today and sure enough, after how he played this past weekend, he is finally getting some recognition and in a week goes from not on the board to a 1st round projection. I'd love to see it work out for him to be a first rounder and lock up some cash, NEXT YEAR!!!!

So you didn't hear the interview? Gotcha.

Maybe I interpreted different but I took the way he said it to mean that he didn't really think it would matter much if he came back. In the end it doesn't matter. Royce is going pro as he should. Good for him and good for us. It's always good to have a player from Iowa State get drafted and play in the NBA

Going to trust you're right about those #s, very well done.

I think that's a great indicator of the ceiling, but not a good indicator of who would actually play more minutes right now. There's still a very good chance Green is a better NBA contributor than White on day one, but there's a much less likely chance of Green ever becoming a more dangerous starter at any point.

Another thing that really matters is personnel of the team and injuries. Any player not taken in the top 15 or so really needs some breaks in the personnel and injury departments. The first half of the year the Bulls first round pick Jimmy Butler and journeyman John Lucas III (Ok State) played pretty much zero non-garbage time minutes. When Rose and Watson were hurt at the same time they both suddenly got a ton of minutes. Butler didn't really win himself more minutes when the team is at full strength, Lucas did himself major favors and will be getting minutes with the Bulls or some other team for at least the next year or so because of his play.

Who knows what might happen with Royce's situation. Brackins keeps coming up, CB may be an injury away from proving he does or doesn't belong in the NBA.
