I can't tell you how many times I've heard that Minnesota and Kansas are in a class all by themselves in the running for worst BCS football team this year.

It looked like Tech thought ISU was just as bad. 3 barely non-con wins and 4 conference losses. It felt like they looked at each other and said "Huh? What are they trying to do? Whatever, we'll still beat them easily". They continued to feel that way until it was too late.

I hope ISU doesn't "Tech" its way to a loss against Kansas.

Equally, please don't fire Gill this week. We can't afford to get "McCarney'd".

Tech beat Kansas by 11. We beat Tech by 34. Therefor, we will win by 45. We have a lot of cushion.

It's the responsibility of the coaches and players to stay focused on Kansas. It's our job as fans to wildly overreact after each win and loss. Right now, I'm already planning time off in December for a bowl trip. If they lose this week though, it's the worst team in school history, CPR should be on the hot seat, and we should all email Jamie Pollard to tell him how disappointed we are in him and the football program. :jimlad:

Oh, I'm sure this game will be agonizingly close. Anything more embarassing than losing to Minnesota would be losing to Kansas at home this week. I'm sure the Jayhawks will fight like a cornered animal. I hope our boys bring their A game.

The game Saturday is a must win for ISU if they want to entertain thoughts of a bowl game. That should be enough motivation to go out and take care of Kansas.

Kansas will be out to make sure we don't get a bowl. They will play their ***** off. Hope we are ready to rock.

Agree. Texas Tech was coming off a huge upset of OU, got themselves ranked, and was looking at playing another rival game at UT at this week. Classic trap game to overlook lowly ISU.

ISU is not ranked, is still coming off 4 losses in last five games, has no game next week to look past too, and knows beyond doubt this KU game is 100% critical to being in the bowl game battle.

Apples and oranges. Every team needs respect their opponent, but it is just a fact that KU is a very bad team. Nothing wrong with stating facts.

I don't know of many teams that play to make sure their opponent doesn't get to a bowl game, and still have 3 games left in the year.
Teams play to win the current game.

The chances of KU making a bowl are at like 3%. They are going to try to take teams like Iowa State out. I'm pretty sure KU knows they can't beat the Oklahoma's or Oklahoma State's of the world.

Turner Gill is coaching for his life. KU players see a game they can possibly win. Our guys are flying high. Could spell trouble.

Hopefully CPR and crew can keep them focused this week. Personally I look for us to wup'em good.

We beat Tech by 34. Tech beat Oklahoma by 3. Oklahoma beat Kansas by 30. I'll be disappointed if we don't win by 67.

EDIT: Even better: ISU > Tech by 34; Tech > OU by 3; OU > KSU by 41; KSU > KU by 38. Therefore, ISU > KU by 116.

Run the ball and then run it some more, all over KU. Texas just ran all over them last week and they were blown out 43-0. KU will be ready to play this week, and if we look past them, kiss a bowl chance good-bye.

We need to get on them early and the D needs to stuff their running game. Do that, and play smart and take care of the football, we should come out with the W. We must play very well, because I have a feeling that this will be KU's best played game all year. Be ready Cyclones-

How many more of these threads will be started this week? You realize as fans, we have no control over what happens on Saturdays? We can be as overconfident as is humanly possible and it just won't matter. If we lose on Saturday, I'm pretty sure CPR, his staff, his players, the AD...they aren't going to blame overconfident message board fans. Threads like this are just stupid. That is all.

Not much of a fan if you haven't already done this.:jimlad:

I would be very disappointed if the Clones don't come out looking for blood next week. This is a game they have to win, it is at home, KU is beyond horrible, it is a definate 'Just do It' game. KU is really bad at defending what ISU does best, run the ball. Not sure KU does anything right offensively.... All CPR needs to do is show the tape of last year's CU game to the players to remind them of what happens if you don't come out ready to play every game.

You are wrong. In order to lower the risk of bad pr and media miscues, every week, in preparation for several contingencies, the media relations department at the university provides a list of "pre-screened" quotes that Paul Rhoads may use in his post-game comments.

I have it on good authority that, in the event of a loss on Saturday, the following quote has been approved:

"We had a great week of practice and were totally in synch. The game plan was perfect and the execution today was nearly flawless. As unfortunate as this loss was, I wouldn't change a thing. As you all know, the game hinged on a lack of focus from ribsnwhisky and other internet posters who simply did not take this game seriously enough."

Get it together people. Without our magical psychic powers, fueled by cynicism and disappointment, this team would be nothing. The only way we win this game is if all of us think, loudly, in one accord that our players have no chance.

If you find that demon temptation known as "optimism" creeping into your mindset, banish it! Or all is lost!

Think only bad thoughts... think only bad thoughts... think only bad thoughts...
