I agree it would be a solid conference. A lot of people have the same mistaken perception about ISU as we do about some of those directional/city schools. They have things to offer as well. It'll be hard to stack up against those other confernces, but it's not like we have a hard time stacking up as it is right now as an individual school in the Big 12.

Why would OSU call a special regents meeting to say they are staying in the Big 12? For everyone who says the Big 12 will stay together....here is the writing on the wall that it won't.

As a moderator, you should learn to express your opinions as opinions, not as facts. You believe OU and OSU are on their way out, and you very well could be right, but you're only guessing based on the evidence you see.
The Regents meeting today is to simply approve authorization for the Boren to make all decisions regarding OU's conference realignment. I'm guessing it's really nothing more that than - just a formality that is required to take place. I'm also guessing that the purpose of Wednesday's meeting is to set aside a time for a detailed discussion between Boren and the Regents, at least that's what I'm hoping for.
So OU & OSU have separate BORs - correct? If so does that mean OSU BOR waiting to get marching orders from the OU BOR?
I still think OU and OSU are bluffing to get UT to go with them...I really doubt the Pac wants those two on their own.
I think UT needs to tell them "go ahead and we'll decide by years end"...see what happens.
My guess is that OU / OSU would stop because they know that the Pac isn't ready to add the OK market and two schools that don't add to their academic profile and very few TV sets.
The only fear for UT would be KU / MU going to the Pac as a replacement.
I don't see that happening though.

OU/OSU aren't bluffing. Larry Scott wants the OU brand badly for football, yes we arent a big market but we are the bluest of blue bloods in the sport.

OU wanted to go last year. Yes, Oklahoma is a small state population wise, but like Nebraska, Oklahoma is a national brand that will generate PAC-12 interest and coverage in the Central & Eastern portions of the country.

Don't tease me! While I understand most would complain about the time zone difference and so on...I would love this to happen!
If UT stays the 7 remaining schools get 60mill to split or do would they use that to help teams they are courting with their buyouts?
The Omaha Nighthawks drew only 15k for $15 a ticket in a beautiful stadium. This may drive pro football to greater heights. What happens if more than half the country stopped caring about Alabama or Auburn games because their home team is in an alkso ran group. Do the UNi fans care what Alabama is doing?

As long as ISU remains in an AQ program and can continue to build what we've started here, I will be so relieved when these ****sticks are no longer around to wreck things for everyone else.
