Yeah, probably right. It's a compelling argument, though, with regard to super-conference expansion: if it happens somewhere, Pac-16/SEC/B1G are all going to amp up and be ready. If so, we could fill out spot #16 in B1G because of our regional location/good school/AAU status. And, the fact that no one at ISU is talking, plus "connected people" seem to feel very comfortable right now when they shouldn't given what's being talked about in the media...
OMG, how awesome would that be? I don't want to get my hopes up, but maybe GG/JP have pulled a miracle from the hat. Regardless, I feel confident in them doing the best they can. Whatever we get is absolutely the top of what we COULD have gotten. If that's B1G, or Big East, or MWC, I know we couldn't have done better.
My guess is discussion of big 12 members has become national bar fodder. There will be lots of blips, squeeks, and hushes, but it will be discussed in front of people. Maybe some twelve year old twitter will get the ultimate scoop from listening to dad talk on the phone.

Well, not everybody uses the Queen's English when writing private, personal emails. Especially, if said person texts more than emails. I wouldn't discount the post just because of grammar...
Here's my stupid question that has probably been answered in one of the other ~ 500 pages of this thread ...
If the Big XII blows up and say there are 4 teams left (I-State, K-State, KU, and Baylor) ... do they have a remedy in court? Or would the other 6 members owe their exit fees to the "remaining" four?

Just a slight clarification, but I do believe that aTm has to apply, then the SEC will vote to accept. Latest rumors had said aTm wouldn't apply until their bye week to avoid 'distraction' to their programs...
Has the SEC even acknowledged receiving an application from TAMU? In the "NU to Big Ten" saga, NU announced it's application to the Big Ten, and the Big Ten acknowledged receiving it. Of course, this one doesn't have to take that path, but it would seem reasonable that it would.

Tam tried to send it by USPS or pony express, but they had went to interim mail delibvery and the package was lost. However, the SEC mason jar shipment did arrive.

This could be the piece holding the cookie from crumbling. That scenario could lead to an entire years worth of TV revenue split between 4 teams. (I assumed they shored this up last summer)
Four teams ≠ a conference. It would dissolve with a majority vote per conference bylaws and no exit penalties would be withheld.
Pretty sure if there are only 4 or 5 teams left the league is dissolved so there wouldn't be any exit fees to be paid.

Has there been any interest expressed by Iowa politicians? It seems that the athletic program (football) is self supporting at a BCS school otherwise, not so much.

Big Ten proposed a tiered structure for new members. However, I am pretty sure that Nebraska is not getting a full share for several years, so why would MU get a full share?
