Buying a watch.

I wear a watch every day and when I was unemployed I read that hiring managers will notice a nice watch and shoes. So, keep that in mind for those interviewing.

I bought a nice Fossil watch from the ISU Alumni Association a couple of years ago. It's not a gaudy college team watch like a lot are, but very nice. The I State logo is understated.
 
I have a Bulova precisionist. I don't wear it every day. It is definitely nice to wear when going out on the town or dressing up for an interview.

My suggestion too. I am a watch guy, and I get steals there all the time. I have gotten Skagen, Kenneth Cole, Bulova, and all for relatively cheap, usually %50 or less than what they were at the dept. store.

My suggestion is to buy a watch at Wal-Mart that you like first and see if you like having a watch on every day. I have bought several watches from there that people have commented on.

Not worth $400 unless you have it to waste or if you are a label freak.

Nothing tackier than a guy in suit trying to impress with cheap, inappropriate, or beat up shoes.

Actually, I'm a big fan of their watches with the same sort of face and either a mesh or link band. Being left handed and wearing my watch on the right, my last watch has seen more than its fair share of run ins with the wall. I might have to pick up one of these skagens.

Good point. Rarely see that one though. Usually see a lot of younger guys buying a $500 suit, and then wearing sketchers or their church shoes they wore in high school.
 
I have a Citizen that I like a lot, although I don't have much to compare it to, my only other watch before this was a Fossil. It's the Eco-Drive so it doesn't have a battery, which I like.

Great watch. I wear mine everyday. Battery can last 6 months in the dark. Not that I needed it to do that, but its good to know?
