i'd take that, but i dont think we steal from texas again, then again, i could be wrong

I honestly think Texas is the most likely loss in the first 6 games. I think we could beat everyone else. I would say we go 3-3 to start.

Tron's Call:

ISU beats Iowa and big. Gotta love that! So is that an "upset" or an expectation? I'd say beating Iowa is an expectation. Beating them big is maybe a surprise, but not an upset.

I agree with Tron - their defense is going to be down from last year and ISU better be ready to play in year three of Rhoads against Iowa or his head is going to do the Exorcist 360 in the post game media conference.

I say OU = upset. There I said it. Get ready to be shocked OU Nation. That is the annual Rhoads upset special for 2011.

I like your enthusiasm but I'd put OSU in our house as our upset in 2011.

I see it this way for the following:

  1. OSU will be a much better team than OU and surprise/shock many who are overlooking the returning core players and them keeping the playbook the same from last year. They win the Big 12 this year if OU stumbles at all.
  2. OU at home goes for the bully tactic - get up big fast. If ISU can keep OU close or heaven forbid, get up on them early, coach Stoops starts playing with his visor with that nervous tick of his non-stop and goes into Water Boy's coach meltdown phase at least temporarily, giving a huge coaching advantage at least temporarily. All teams that have "upset" OU have taken advantage of this weakness. Think Boise State game.
  3. ISU has won both upsets against teams no one expected them to have a chance against and the stats backed up that argument in both cases.
  4. Rhoads has arguably beaten the teams ISU fans wanted to see ISU beat the worst in order to date: NU, Texas and who could be next besides OU?
That said, beating OSU would be a nice consolation prize if OU win is too far out of reach for this year. And I like the way you're looking for an upset win also.

THIS!!! I like this logic a lot! Rhoads has got to kill another giant this year and OU would be great. Of course I'd easily take OSU as well and I'm going in with the assumption that we beat Texas again!

GO CLONES!

You guys have really gone off the deep end if you think beating Iowa is not an upset.

Isn's OU #1 overall in the top 25?

Either way let's just beat'em both!

It's called ALL IN.

And if it is dumb, it's like Dumb and Dumber smart. You know, where Jim Carey's character is asking the married wife if they can date and she says "It's like a one in a million chance." Carey pauses, smiles like a Cheshire cat and says "So what you're saying is I have a chance!".

Now get out of that Hawk loving kiddie pool colored yellow.

That isn't food dye, by the way.

the only problem i have with oklahoma is that they have landry jones at qb. if we had landry jones as our qb,i think we would have a nice chance to beat the okies. i think the okies will win the conference because they have the best qb in the big 12 minus 2.. in mr. jones..if jones suffers an injury b4 we play the sooners,it will at least give us a chance to upset the sooners..

If I had to make a prediction based solely on how I think our defense and special teams will play, I'd say we are in every single game with and should come out with at least 7 wins.

But we all know there are 3 facets to the game. Until I see some QB play... I'm hesitant to make ANY predictions.
