Deace Predictions

Thomas is a senior. He gone. Why is Texas going to be unstoppable? Mizzou doesn't look to have a game breaker at receiver going forward.
I made it all the way through this thread until i saw this. Ummm...do we haev a game breaker at WR?

A lot of people seem to forget we will have a new QB, a new C, a new LG, a new TE a new WR, and a new starting RB. That is replacing 6 of 11 starters on an offense that was bad. Now that could be good if those guys were replaced with better players but those guys were actually the best players on offense.

  1. Lose our best QB-We will have a QB battle between a JUCO that doesn't know the system, a QB that has seen some action and has been less than impressive, a late recruiting pick up whose parent says sits on a knee at practice, a RS Frosh that has had injury problems and some true Frosh.
  2. We replace our best lineman who also was our center. The staff is so confident in his RS Frosh replacement that they brought in a JUCO. We also lose our LG who was a three year starter. Not a great player but a solid OL. Our best returning OL is penalty prone, regressed this year, and may just leave.
  3. Lose our best WR and TE-Our WR corp is not good and we lose our best pass catcher at TE. Between drops, inability to get off the line, poor downfield blocking, and inability to make plays after the catch, our WRs are below average. There are some guys with potential but hey have yet to produce consistently. They will continue to get hyped this winter and next spring but we have not had an above average receiver in a very long time (Hamilton may be the best we have had). I don't care who the QB is until we get WR that can consistently catch the damn ball and block downfield.
  4. RB we should be solid but if the OL can't block, it doesn't matter. Look at Arobs production decrease this year.
  5. We have the same OC who is stilll learning what it is like to play with the big boys.
  6. I haven't even discussed defense because I think Wally will continue to grow that defense even though we lose a NFL caliber safety and still have no pass rush. The defense really won't matter if this offense continues to struggle
Why on earth would anyone outside of ISU fans pick ISU to win more than 3 games? personally I see somewhere between 4-7 but an outsider will pick us 9th in the Big 12 and have us go 3-9. I think Rhoads will have this team put together. We will beat UI, UConn, KSU, aTm, and Kansas. After that I am not sure who beat. Baylor will be very tough and we pay there. Texas is winnable at home early in the season, TT is beatable but again we play there, OU and OSU will **** pound us.

In the end, next year is critical for ISU football. If we can beataTm, Texas and TT again we will help create coaching issues and instability in the state of Texas which bodes well for recruiting. the iowa game is huge as we could start their season off on a bad note and the fan base could get restless. This only helps grow our fanbase. Beat KU to keep them down and beat KSU and urge Snyder out the door.

So let me get this straight...Deace....the "Cyclone Fan" *cough* *cough* is posting his stuff on Suckeye Nation now?

it's fun to speculate about next year, at least for a lot of people it is. If it's not your cup of tea, then don't open a thread about football predictions.
Because even though I disagree with such a prediction this early I still have an opinion and am entitled to state that. If I was offensive about it then I could understand your displeasure. Carry on....

Has he ever posted anything here?
Is he avoiding CF because his own message board tanked?

A host of reasons, at least when the thing started out and beyond. Although for the last couple years - not sure why he wouldn't show up here but would elsewhere.

Should be an indicator to what I already stated - his hate for Iowa far exceeds his "support" of ISU...which would be the only reason he "supported" ISU.

I think Steve probably posts on this board, but just doesn't out himself.

And his hatred for Iowa is far exceeded by his support of ISU. I am fairly certain of that.

Probably does it as a favor to miller.

That would be my guess.

Basically he posts the stuff that they would have done if they still had a show together like his weekly picks against the spread that they used to do on Fridays, his crystal ball prediction reconciliation that they used to do after the regular season, and now the "way too early predictions" that he used to do right before they went on Christmas break.

I'm guessing there will be a way too early top 25 sometime in January after the bowl games and he'll do his annual "official top 25" in July along with his conference predictions & bowl game predictions.

It's not that his hatred for Iowa far exceeds his "support" of ISU - it's just that he's too busy covering a "real" team to give his full attention to the team that he was being paid to cover.

On second thought, I'm probably saying exactly the same thing you are...
