Updated Depth Chart (9-13)

Moving Klein to MLB might not be such a bad idea. The containment he needs to have as an OLB just has not come to him yet. Letting him run sideline to sideline in the run game may actually benefit this defense.

Agree.

I know nothing about Morton other than he is not very big.

Any chance they move Lattimer back to a linebacker position for a couple weeks?

He brought some much needed energy against Iowa, the personal foul was stupid, but his energy was great.

I thought he was a pleasant surprise:yes:

I'd like to see Money move ahead of SJ. I thought Money played very hard and blocked really well. SJ continues to drop passes that have to be caught.

This right here. I love SJ, but I want to see us actually have a gameplan where we feature Reynolds. As in at least 10 touches in a game. Also the other SJ needs more touches, and ARob should be split out more, or we should go pro set and get both our guys on the field at the same time.

There, use that info and score us some points Clones!

Agree. Money's blocking was amazing on Saturday. Not to mention is toe-dragging catch along the sidelines.

Wasn't our first play with A-Rob and Woody lined up next to AA? Would love to see Shontrelle or even Money lined up back there with those 2. Would definitely bring a new threat for the D to look at.

The WR group as a whole needs to step up if we're going to be a "spread" offense. I'd like to see Money get more touches as well rather starting or off the bench. I'm pleased to see his blocking efforts because it shows me his maturity as a complete WR. At this stage I just feel as though we're gonna have to start throwing something more than slants and hitches to advance the football. But maybe the coaches know from experience that our highest percentage of passes to complete are only those. While the weather is still "warm" and cooperative we need to catch passes and get into a rythym. Everything changes when its cold outside.

Let's fight on CYCLONES!!
C.Franklin 8 for 98
A. Robinson 10 for 91
D.Darks 10 for 88
D.Reynoldss 4 for 52
S. Johnson 6 for 45
J. Williams 3 for 28

We need more production!

Why does the suggestion of moving Lattimer to LB keep coming up? I doubt if it is because of the 3 tackles that he totaled last year at LB while appearing in 5 games. Those numbers scream out to me that he would not be any more productive at LB than one of the walk-ons or DB's wold be. He is proving on the field that he can be productive at DE. He appears to have enough speed and athleticism to produce at DE but not at LB. Moving Lattimer doesn't look to be a good move and I doubt if the staff attempts to do it.

I have not gone back and looked at the game, probably won't, but it was pretty clear that Money was playing much better in all aspects than Sed. I do know there was one play where SJ split the zone and would have been heading for the endzone if he had been looking for the ball and caught it. He also had a couple of drops that should have been made. Won't have won that game, but it might win against KSU.

Move Money ahead of Sed and open the playbook up more.

I do have a feeling we open the playbook up once a rhythm develops. It's hard to do creative things when the opposing defense is always in your backfield.

Does anyone know what happened to CJ Morgan?? In a burnham camp interview he stated he was the most field ready freshman??? LB depth is killing us this year.....

Because we need some size at LB. On Saturday, our LB's and safety's were getting run over. While it is nice to have pass coverage abilities in the LB core, it doesn't matter when the opponent can just run it up the middle all day long. Move Lattimer to SAM and rotate him and Washington depending on the situation.

Hopefully Morton can be the answer for a couple weeks but he seems very undersized. That does not mean he can't be effective. CPR said they will have open competition for the SAM position. I was just trying to think of some other guys who we have to compete.

Move Neal to OLB and have Lattimer take his spot. Instant upgrades in both positions. Not sure how good Neal is in coverage but I doubt he is significantly better or worse than our other linebackers.

He has almost identical height and weight stats with Washington. I don't see them putting him on the field, not if Washington can do the job.

agreed, im glad others noticed. after his one catch he fought hard for every step, and he blocked like no other. Money def needs to move up the chart.
