What if I-State blows out Kent State?

Hope you have fun in Ames, it really is an awesome tailgating experience, MOST Cyclone fans are good people and will always talk with you/offer you a beer, so have fun and good luck to you. I really respect the MAC conference and Kent St. should do very well in it this year, but thursday will be ALL CYCLONES!!!

Nice to see some of ya making the trip - here's to hoping it's a long trip back for ya. ;)

But seriously, "welcome to Ames". Hope you have a good time, just not too good.

WHAT IF IOWA STATE BLOWS OUT KENT STATE?

It will be one of the better days of my life...beyond that I don't have a clue.

If we blowout Kent State maybe mouthy marty will have to get two shaved haircuts!!

I don't think ISU will blow out the Flashes, but if KSU struggles early it's a possibility. Bad things seem to snowball on the Flashes pretty fast.

I've got family in Iowa and will be making the trip to Ames. I like ISU and U of I, but I've always liked ISU more. Hope you stick it to the Hawks and have good luck except on Thursday.

Just a suggestion: Get there as early as possible tomorrow. We love our tailgating! The tailgate lots open at 1pm and there will be a line to get in. Most ISU fan's will welcome you into their party and may even offer you a beer or 2.

First off I will be surprised if this is a blowout. Second if it is I'm not reading much into it. Like others have said, Iowa is our first "real" test against a good team and we should know more about our team after that game. Even if we go 3-1 (I think we'll go 2-2) in non-conference I'd still be cautious because it's very possibly we start 0-5 in the Big 12 schedule before we play some more winable games.

Like everyone, I'd love for us to come out of the gates strong and I hope we do pull off a few unexpected wins this season. But even if we do only win 4 or 5 games this season I'll be content because I'm not expecting any more than that and with our tough schedule any more than that would be a great acheivement for this team.

It is always good to blow out your opponent. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why someone would be concerned if we blow out Kent State?!? I think it is about time we started kicking *** and taking names!

Getting back on track with this thread, I think a convincing win is important, and would give the team much needed convidence in the new direction this coaching staff it taking. A loss, to what is probably the weakest team on our schedule, could be devastating. Chizik needs to be validated, and early in the schedule, if we are going to have any chance in conference play. Additionally, we seem to have a number of potential recruits visiting these early games. If they aren't impressed, we won't get the talent so badly needed for Chizik to build a contender. A 10+ point win would really be nice.
