Then you were never with ISU basketball. I understand the disappointment though.
Disappointing. I'd rate this hire at about a 3 out of 10 on the surface. Better than 1 out of 10 we had but, wow, we could have done better.
With Grayer in tow, and ideally Nurse, too, I could get very excited about this. More so than Billie.
The Mayor with quality assistants -- options include Nurse, Grayer, TJ and Morgan (for realz) -- could make for an exciting group.

I love it!
He's a winner everywhere he's gone. He has played in the pro game. Been an exec in the pro game. Has UNBELIEVABLE connections in the pro and college game. He's an Ames and Iowa State god... why would we not like this??

Hoiberg always succeeds. He's the kind of guy that just creates success everywhere he goes.
If this is true, he'll win. He knows the Magic here. He can tell recruits stories that will make them think Ames is a serious place.
He knows the fans, so he can sell tickets like crazy. Think that our sleeping giant wouldn't go completely nuts to see the Mayor lead us back to the tournament?
