Lucca's Facebook Status (4/26/10)

To hades with Lucca. Kid quit.

Sucks to see that from Ham. But if that's how he feels - good riddance as well. I don't think he was treated poorly by the fans at all and many empathized with him.

I just told a coworker about those posts and his response was this: "No Lucca, it looks like the ISU family is coming back together."

I agree.

But perhaps it is a sign of how he was treated by McD.

Not sure how I read it being directed at GMac, or see this as a negative for GMac at all.

(edit: I'm sure they meant it to be. But... swing and miss)

The man just went from another year at 1.25 mil and probably a 1.5-2.0 buyout (we'll say 1 year for 3+ mil) to 10 years and 9 million bucks.

I'd say he improved his situation SIGNIFICANTLY.

So what are Staiger and Hamiltion laughing at again?

"ha ha ha.. the coach I hate just got another 10 years in the business and about another 6 mil... ha ha ha ha"

Sorry - no. This is taking a shot at the woes of the school and program.

Well, clearly Lucca has still been keeping tabs on ISU. Seems like a potshot at McD, not ISU. I thought it was pretty funny actually.

When you leave a team mid season showing no class or loyalty, you have no room to be doing this ****. Lucca never had the intention of being here if another opportunity was offered. He was here just biding time until he got something else offered.

Ham flat out lied about why he was leaving and now he does this ****. CLoser to home my ***.

Check out Lucca's status and Hami's response.

Yet their profile pictures are them in ISU jerseys.

I find it odd that Hamilton would laugh at this situation considering he lived with Greg's son. You think he would be more sensitive to the situation

The players obviously hated McDermott. The ones who did not hate him simply disliked him. This has been evident for 4 years now.

I am going to say Mac wasn't the whole problem with Ham and likely not the whole problem with Lucca.

Come on, if you were made to feel guilty about walking out on a commitment and then the person that said it to you turned around and did the same thing, you don't have any room to take shots at them?

When referenced, the term "family" doesn't always mean it's a good thing. Charles Manson referred to his little group as "family".

Rarely do you seen this kind of dislike expressed for a coach. I think with statements from Lucca, Ham, Rashon Clarks's GF( as people pointed out in another post), etc., rumors of players not liking him at UNI, and all of the player defections, shows that he is not really a likable guy. He may come off to the media and fans as a "nice guy" but i have a feeling he really isn't otherwise people would leave so often or say things about him. Usually when players transfer you don't hear anything negative even if they coach was hard on a kid, but it is obvious there is something more going on otherwise there wouldn't be all the dislike of McD by former players, and all of the transfers. I can't believe Creighton is actually going to hire this guy.

Ya got it all figured out, huh? Couldn't be that Hamilton tried to take the high road and not throw egg on the fact of ISU MBB? Nope, that couldn't be it at all. And then when people called him on it, he fessed up.

It's really, really easy to blame the kids...even an athletic director can do it!

And yet people are still insisting that this isn't the time to reboot the ISU MBB program...

Mac didn't leave mid season. Also, the majority is happy he is leaving. The simple fact is that most people quit on him long before he quit on us.

Makes me wonder if Ham is bitter because he might have stayed at ISU if he knew that McDermott was on his way out...

The thing that I found interesting about his post is that apparently he hasn't had enough PT yet in Germany to be able to get an action shot for his avatar pic.

Clearly a shot at G-Mac. It's obvious our team lacked a leader, and I have a hard time blaming guys for not sticking around. The ship was sinking, and our AD had no idea how to right it.

I view the post as a shot at McD, no doubt. Clearly the players didn't buy what McD was selling, as is evident by the mass defections we have had every single year. Thankfully, this latest defetion should be the one that finally fixes the problem.
