I think Brackins comes back

Probably the dumbest post I have ever read here.

I wouldn't say that. We built a sizable lead when he went out with four. I think it would be hard to arue that he would have improved us much in overtime. I am not saying we are better without him but let's say he goes into black hole mode in overtime. We likely lose then.

Tonight I think that Brackins finally came to the realization that he's a PF, not a SF. He attempt to be a perimeter player has hurt this team more than if he just left last year. Now, if he comes back to play the same type of game that he showed tonight we will be much better next year. If he wants to play the perimeter again then he should probably move on.

I don't think this part is true. He still has 16.5 ppg on the season (most of the entire team), and 8.5 rebounds (second highest on the team). You could see him being a huge morale boost with the guys tonight, even from the bench after he fouled out. His game is certainly not bunny shots from the perimeter, but it's still better to have him than not.

I love Brack and I hope only the best for him, but after looking back at this season, it might be the best thing for his future to come back and get his degree.

I love Craig. I hope he gets all he can this year and heads to the NBA. He deserves it for giving us a chance.

I dont get how any ISU fan cant see that he was one of the better players in our history. For him to turn down millions to be a Cyclone, that's something we have never seen before.

I would say on a Macro level yes. However there have been times and maybe even whole games where IMO the outcome COULD have changed without him there. I am in no way saying we are better off without him. What I am saying is there was a few game stretch where he was terrible. I mean he was bad. I think two games in a row he shot 18 and 25 percent. Now I realize what he does outside of scoring and drawing attention, but I am willing to bet if you give his 15 or so shots to other guys, they do as well, maybe better. The thing has been that he will take terrible shots like a long three early in the clock or a contested 18 footer early. Without him in there to hit the boards, that is almost as bad as a turnover. What I have seen this year is a Craig Brackins who I believe thought he needed to show a perimeter game to get to the next level. I cannot fault him for that. He has to get his. What I can say is at times he was a black hole.

I continue to be astounded at how many people continue to knock our best player...Craig Brackins. Why is this?

He has had a very good season and a very good career. Just look at where he is in terms of career numbers.

Last year he kind of snuck up and splashed onto the scene...which was not universally expected before the season. This year the expectations were enormous and he has been targeted by our opponents all year and his numbers are virtually the same as they were last year.

If he leaves, which I expect, he will be sorely missed next year.

WHile agree with the last part, he does deserve some blame. I know he has a huge weight on his shoulders and probably feels he needs to carry this team by taking more shots, however, he is shooting about 30% from 3 in conference and continues to take 2-3 per game that are very low percentage shots. Shot selection from him has been mediocre at best. The other place that I see a deficiency is late in close games. He took over one game, Nebraska and we won. Go look at game logs of every close games. He was not willing us to victory. I believe truly great players do that when asked. I still think he is a great player, however, he has weaknesses and deserves as much blame as every other person on the team with the exception of the coach.

I agree 100%. That's been Craig's problem his whole career and it helps explain why ISU is 12-36 in Big 12 games during his time at ISU. How much worse could ISU's record have been without Craig?

While I'm leaning toward wanting him to come back, I'm not sure why things would be any different in year 4.

Hes gone and I wish him well in the NBA. He saw his stock fall too much to risk another year.

As much as i'd love to have him back for another year, its the smart decision to take the money while its there. I wouldnt have begrudged him for taking the money last year, honestly.

Where can I get Craigs kicks? Those were sick tonight!

If we had a sophmore of incoming freshman to take his spot I would actually prefer him leaving. Get that core of Ejim Colvin and that guy together. However, since since we will have all upperclassmen there we would be better off if he was back. Honestly when I look at his game, I still think he could get better here but I think he needs to go.

Craig is not coming back next year. Would be crazy to do that. Has he done what he hoped he would do this year? No......but he came back and we should all thank him for that. Yes....he could be a better leader and there are times where he could be tougher........and we all know his defense is a liability.....but he is the one that we all look to for hope. He is the "good guy" and we want him to win.....hope he has at least 1-2 more wins in him as a Cyclone!
