I think Brackins comes back

I have to first say that anyone that does not understand that Brackins is head and shoulders our best player needs to reconsider their opinion. Big games by teammates, especially Hamilton and Gilstrap, are attributed by the attention that Brackins receives. KSU is one of the few teams that did not double team him the majority of the game (I happen to respect that form the Kay Staters).

With that said I think there is a likely scenario that both Brackins and ISU benefits from another year together. With one assumption, Brackins is willing to be coached and McDermott is willing to coach him. I think Brackins attitude has been great but he is not tough enough to impose his game. He takes what the defense gives him. IMHO, McDermott has failed him to a certain degree. Through the course of the season, there were poor decisions by Craig that McDermott seemingly looked the other way.

I don't get this board sometimes. I believe in supporting or players and coaches...but I don't mind whining about them sometimes either. Some posters come across as bigger fans of coaches/players than the university. I just do not understand any post that would say anything other than Craig should come back. Even if "realistically" you thought he would be better off leaving, why would you post anything other than Craig please come back. I like to assume there are Hogeyes amongst our ranks but I also know there is this self loathing that sucks.

Just like after Monday when JP says McDermott is coming back why post he shouldn't. I respect opinions but what is the point. the only people that might read these boards are recruits. Like JP gives a ****. It's rightfully about the people giving the money.

Hmmm.... I don't think that I'm crazy enough to say that I want one of the best players in ISU history not to come back. I can't say that there is an NBA team that I could care less about. However, if Iowa State can put together a special season, that would be something. If he comes back I think that ISU can have an even better season next year than we thought we were going to have this season. I want him back! However, he gave us another year and I thank him for that... This season isn't over yet, time to make history! If he goes pro I couldn't blame him, but he would make a huge impact next season...

If we had a sophmore of incoming freshman to take his spot I would actually prefer him leaving. Get that core of Ejim Colvin and that guy together. However, since since we will have all upperclassmen there we would be better off if he was back. Honestly when I look at his game, I still think he could get better here but I think he needs to go.

Mac loaded up for this year. He recruited MG when he knew (at the time) that he was a one year player.

He has felt the pressure the past couple of years. That is why this was the year. OK it didn't work out. Too bad. Now we are going for the juco fix.

That is why there isn't any "young" player behind him

Craig missed out on a weak draft last year. This one is much stronger.

That being said, he is one good workout away from being a top 20 pick. That is what he will be doing.

As a Cyclone first-most and fore-most... I hope that Craig Brackins decides to play for the Iowa State University for one more season. What an outstanding individual we have been honored to have play for us... both on.. and off the court.

He sacrificed a lot (it seems) to come back and play for our school this season. We can't thank him enough for that.

How great would it be for him to come back again?? As Cyclone fans, it would be another addition to the amazing legacy that Brackins has already created here. He is already one of the greatest to play for our school. Coming back for his senior year would make him one of, if not the, greatest Cyclones of all time.

Craig deserves the best. If he decides to go to the next level, good for him. He deserves that opportunity. We can't blame him one bit.

But Craig... I think I am speaking from all of Cyclone Nation when I say: We want one more year!

The NBA is already complaining about his age. Him and Gilstrap will both probably be gone. IMO coach Mac will be back. Sign the jucos and go from there. You never know what's going to happen from year to year. I think were maybe a 17 win team next year just because of a bit more depth then we had this year. Lets hope the players we have now stick around. Because I think Colvin could really develop into something real special.

As long as Brackins gets drafted somewhere in the first round whether its 15th or 28th he's guaranteed a contract. 2 million or 800 thousand.. sign me up. Even if it is for just 2 years..
