Jordan Bernstine ""Morris" in trouble?

Obviously all of the facts aren't out yet, but I'm guessing we're starting to see why GC didn't recruit Bernstine.

Chiz did not recruit bernstine because he was already commited to Iowa at the time. Maybe my dates are off though.

So you can say because of Hindsight that the reason Chizik didn't recruit Jordan because he knew about his potential run-ins with the law. I'm throwing the BS flag on that one. There is no way to know a kid would have problems with the law unless Gene had a background check done on the kid.

It sounds like Jordan needs to get to Iowa City soon before he stirs up more trouble. My guess is that as crooked as the DSMPD is nothing will come of this. It shames me to say it but I'm sure some Hawk booster will probably make the whole thing go away with a donation. However, I'm surprised that if Jordan resorted to taking matters into his own hands that he didn't at least go to the south-side mafia and as them to do him a favor and take care of his little problem.

Character issues don't just show up on a court transcript. I realize that you're a hawk fan but just admit what you've got. Berryman is a thug for driving on a suspended license but your drunk QB is a "non-story during a slow news week". Give me a break...they aren't all great because they're hawks and they aren't all thugs because they're not.

Could be but I recall there being a lot of conversation about whether or not GC had/was going to contact him, etc. I thought it was after that that he committed to UI.

The ironic thing is that right before Arvell Nelson was busted for his DUI Iowa had a relatively quiet offseason. Then Bradley Fletcher goes gets a DUI. So it hasn't been a good month of July but things could be worse.

I remember some Cyclone fans saying when Chizik was hired that he should put the full-court press on and get Jordan to commit because at the time he was still undecided about his future. I don't know if there was any contact made by Chizik, as he was in the middle of assembling his coaching staff.

I mean't to say that hopefully once Jordan gets away from the situation in Des Moines he will be able to focus on football and school.

I won't predict the outcome of the investigation currently being conducted. However if you believe everything that is written in the comments section of the story on the Register's website you might have some "issues".

Absolutely...he was one of the best football players in the country. That said, I'm pretty sure none of US did background checks.

Care to elaborate on these allegations?

I don't have any facts to back up my allegations other than the dealings that I've seen first hand with Des Moines law enforcement officials, south-side DSM politicians, and other third parties.

Nice.

I haven't heard of this wide-spread corruption of police and politicians (or other third parties, whomever that is) in Des Moines. Maybe someone "made a donation" to keep this out of the news?

If you've seen these dealings "first hand" you should be able to provide some sort of stories, shouldn't you?
