Three new eateries opening soon

There IS a Mongolian Grill under construction in the former Lucky's Pizza & Video Rental location on Hayward, which was Battle's BBQ before it moved to Welch. The signs went up over winter break. Looks like construction is moving pretty slowly, but it is moving. Lucky's really left that place in bad shape when they moved out, so there's probably a lot to be done.

Being near campus probably makes that a perfect location for that sort of thing. I have to think it will do really well.

Little Caesar's will be great after bar food, especially if they do the $5 take out pizza. There is one up the street from me, but it's not open very late

Haven't had Little Caesar's since in probably 15 years. Pure deliciousness, those square pizzas always hit the spot.

Any word on where the new El Azteca will be? Probably my favorite quick Mexican place in Ames, but sucks going all the way out there for it.

I always thought that La Fuente and Cazador were better than El Azteca, but one of my buddies thought Azteca was the pinnacle of cheapish Mexican food. Just seemed pretty average to me. Good, but not great.

Little Ceasar's is solid drunk food.
But not if it's on the corner of Lincoln and Grand, in there with Carlos O'Kellys, Long John Silvers, Culvers, Brueggers, etc. The only drunks they'll get there are the ones leaving Olde Main's pint night on Wednesdays.

Whatever happened to Buffalo wild wings coming to ames? The IC area has 2 already, how is there not one in Ames yet?

We've got West Cyde Wings.

Although I'm a little upset that they raised their Tuesday night special on wings from $.39 to $.44 each. And the last time I went the wings were half the size of normal. Still tasty though. Hopefully next time they will be normal sized. Still love the place though.

WCW has good regular wings, but their boneless wings are vastly inferior to BWW, imo.

And no, the "Old Country Buffet" and "Mongolian Grill" are not among them.

Looks like a second El Azteca location, the rebirth of Little Caesar's, and The Corral (in the old Tradewinds location).

We like our Little Caesars...on the way home fropm work, cheap and consistent pizza in couple of minutes. This chain has improved from five years ago.

{Willie Thiesen of ex Godfathers fame has opened up a restaurant in omaha in Dundee area. He provides coal fired f pizzas at his restaurant.}

Probably will be built in the next year or so on Duff near Target. Old furniture store building was just razed and they are going to be building a strip mall type thing there *if* the city allows them to (flood plain issues, etc).

How the heck can a mongolian bbq fit into the old battles space? That place is tiny.

That is NOT a deal. Holy crap. I can go to my stomping grounds, The Vine in Iowa City, and get a dozen drop-dead amazing wings (way better than BWW, even) for $3.99, and $1 draws of their in-house ale. WCW is acceptable, but not anywhere near BWW's quality- or price.

Little Caesar's is awesome for the money. Hot and Ready large pizza to go? $5 - can't be beat. In a college town I would think they would be busy non stop.

The thing with little ceasars is that the location is ideal for the non student population, i.e families. But a location in campus town would be a gold mine late at night. It'd be nice to see one in campus town when the build some of the new stuff such as the intermodal facility.
