RTT...20-20 hindsight.

I worked from home today. Was a rather lazy day until the last 90 minutes when people had seem to take their crazy pills.

Part of the reason was because my manager is on her first day of vacation, and flew out to Arizona today. I was taking some of the daily emails she sees. Logged off a little after 3:45p and I've just been vegging since.

Fast forward to about 15 minutes ago, and she's texted me an image. It's a snip from an email rhat was sent just before 6p CT. Water main break near my office, no restrooms or food service, so it'll be closed tomorrow. I wouldn't have known because I don't have work email on my phone.

Soooo....no sticky car ride to work for me.

I refused to get work email on my personal phone. If you wanted me then call me. Another thing I hated was someone calling me at 4pm asking me to help them with something that has been going on all day. Like seriously? You waited all day for this?

I mean i haven't updated my profile pic in at least 15 years and I was gonna anyway because I was gonna get on their dating thing.

And yeah she initiated most of the conversation and a lady isn't gonna reveal where she lives and works to a stranger in a bar if she didn't feel comfortable doing that.
Facebook has a dating thing?

My son goes to occupational therapy and they recommended he get a compression vest that was supposed to help calm him and help him focus. They told me it would only get ordered if it was approved under insurance.

He's had the vest for a couple months and I just got the bill. The vest cost $1500 and insurance covered none of it. I looked online and I could have ordered a custom fitted one from medical supply store for $250 or just bought an Under Armour compression shirt for $25

So much for only ordering it if was approved by insurance.

I think I'd be having a chat with them about that.

But I am sure the "medical" one provided by them is much more effective . . . . . . right?
I have a compression vest, I only use it to keep warm in the winter and create extra sweat when I wear it under a t-shirt.

"Like a good neighbor, State Farm sucks balls."

Had a nice little collision on Saturday. 2025 Santa Fe totaled. Guy was slowing down at a crossroads stop sign, then inexplicably accelerated at the last second right in front of me. The important news is walked away with a few scrapes and bruises on my ankles/shins. State Farm has totally turned to ****.

After I get through this I'm shopping for someone new. After 40 years with them.

Recommendations???

Dang! That sucks!

Can't make a recommendation because I've actually had a great experience.

I had basement flood back in '18 when we got a bunch of rain in an hour or two (RIP Larry Cotlar). Everyone on my block had damage in their basement and my claim was paid out before everyone else in my neighborhood.

I was in an accident a couple of years ago were my car was totaled. When my claim was processed, they mistakenly processed my vehicle with the premium trim package (mine was actually more of a middle trim package) so my payout was higher than it probably should have been.

From a premiums standpoint, I could get cheaper but so far it has been worth the money.

Speaking of dating apps. I am afraid of them. There are one or two women I reach out to when the time is right but past that I have no idea what I am doing.

I was feeling the same way too last year, I still do. I met my ex last year randomly one night and we hit it off, and I was about to venture into the dating app world, but then I didn't have to. Was about to again now and then I met this lady the other night unexpectedly. Hope she responds soon. I just don't have a lot of pictures of myself so that's what's holding me back. But one of my best friends and her sister met both their husbands on hinge, she told me to try it.

Dont send D pics unless they ask
Dont bring up the Ex
Keep 1st meet up simple (coffee or workday lunch)
Dont ask for P or T pics (some will send anyway)
Going to have to accept some baggage with whoever you meet.
Hopefully your kid schedule syncs up with theirs

I am not one to send pics like that and I highly doubt these women are that type either. I get the baggage as I clearly have it too. My thought has been to start with chatting via text and hopefully a coffee meetup.
