KXNO Sports Fanatics

I don't know if this has been brought up but can we work on getting cyclone sports off of 100.3 an iheartradio channel?
For the non metro people 100.3 has pretty good range for listening to the pre and post game shows when driving to and from Ames.

For as much as Cyclone sports has taken off their radio coverage really hasn't IMO. I suppose part of that is the proliferation of the games being on more and various cable channels. Personally I'll take John & Eric over some dudes that never saw the roster until 5 minutes before the game.

I've never seen any sort of radio ratings for games. Is that available?

As ****** as iHeart is, this would be like saying that we need to take Cyclone football and basketball games off ESPN because of what they've done to try and ruin college athletics and make it all about money. Access is a good thing, especially for people who typically listen to games over the air.

I usually listen to podcasts or my playlists on longer car trips, but if I'm going to the store quick, I keep it on FM with 97.3 or 92.5.

I just have no need to listen to KXNO anymore and hear Chris Broussard say "LeBRAAAHN" every 30 seconds, unless the WBB team is playing, and have deleted iHeart from my apps as that is something that they can track easily.

No idea. I've got a handful of stations memorized that I listen to games on as I drive through the state. KWMT am 540 has pretty broad coverage during the daytime but powers down at night so not so great. There are several FM stations though out the state that you can usually pick up for 50-75 miles. Fun Fact I listened to ISU FB while in Utqiagvik (Barrow) Alaska picked them up on Cyclones.com and the hotels internet while waiting for my flight out. Never thought that would happen in my lifetime

This is cool. Were you stationed there, there for work or just vacation?

I don't understand why you guys are all ripping on national sports radio - there are so many great subjects we can dive into:

  • Who is better Michael or Lebron?
  • Can Dak Prescott win a superbowl?
  • What's Jerry Jones saying these days?
  • Are the Lakers one piece away?
  • Knicks are on the rise!
  • Mahomes is already top 5 all time!
  • Are the Yankees dead?
  • Doooook basketball!
  • Ohio State football backup kicker controversy
  • Is Embiid too soft?
  • 2029 compensation draft picks
  • Is Nick Saban the greatest coach ever?
  • The SEC is overrated/underrated
  • Steph changed basketball
  • Greatest athlete debate
  • Some random story racialized
  • Is Aaron Rodgers washed?
  • Cowboys Cowboys Cowboys!

This is exactly why SiriusXM is a good if you are a sports fan. So many of ISU's games were on channel 84 this year, and if not on there, you can get them through the app. No need to flip stations as you drive out of range.

Those 2 clowns are trying to milk the KXNO layoffs for every bit they can right now to get more listeners/viewers. They've been non-stop social media barrage trying to offer their show to everyone now that we no longer have a local option. Can't say I blame them but their show still sucks. Other than listening to the podcast of the first part of their show the day after the KXNO layoffs to see what they had to say I don't think I've listened to their show for a total of an hour or so with their interview with Bill Fennelly after the transfer portal fallout being the most I ever previously listened to any of their shows.

You've barely listened to them, yet you know their show sucks? Makes sense....

Yeah they have made shirts crapping on iHeart. Which we all agree they suck but these two are most certainly trying to monetize these people losing their jobs and livelihoods. Never loved either of them, but would listen to their radio show in the AM when I was still in IA. Needless to say this is pretty shallow
