Stupid they didn't give him the review, but it would have been a strike anyway.
I've seen that a couple times this year where ump denied and only a few seconds expired after pitch.

Tonight, it looked like Busch was a tad slow because he turned to ump to see if call was ball or strike. But as soon he realized strike was called, he tapped his head.

All worked out!! And day game tomorrow!! Love it.

Thatta way Trent Thornton....whoever you are.

Now finish it right now.
Dude woke up in Iowa this morning and was pitching in the highest leverage situation at Wrigley to end the day.

Unbelievable piece of hitting by PCA to send that pitch out the other way. Would be awesome if that leads to him going on a tear.

Reds have to be crushed losing again that way. What a series!

(I am very concerned about the state of our rotation but the offense shows we’re never out of it)

Take it FWIW but Kaplan said on his radio show this morning that Giants pitcher Robbie Ray is a name to watch for the Cubs. Believe Ray is on his last year of his contract and would have about 15-20 million left depending on how early you would trade for him.

Looked like he denied Elly earlier in the game. Although I thought he waited longer than Busch.

Has anyone said yet what the plan is for Friday? Assad threw 17 pitches on Tuesday so I assume he wouldn't be ready, but maybe he could go a couple and then insert him fully the next time through.

Really a tough ask to do a bullpen game with the limited numbers and options there as well. Brown should be good for a couple innings.

Brown has looked good in a reliever role. Do they look into moving him back to a starter due to all of the injuries?

I think for now you leave him. You still have a full rotation with Assad and Rea. For now.

Kinda wish we hadn't missed out on Giolito. I do think we'll see some additions soon whether its a small trade or signings.

That's the equivalent to a normal bullpen day starters throw. Assad will be fine if its him

This is a guess. But I was thinking we didn't see Brown last night because Assad and Brown will piggyback Friday's game in Texas. Cubs will try to get 6 to 8 innings out of those two guys because neither is stretched out. Assad hasn't started in almost two weeks, and Brown hasn't started all year.

More info will come out later today.
