Soresby: if the NCAA tries to do anything, his group will threaten lawsuits and he will get off with nothing

Cincy: NCAA going to bring the hammer.
Sorsby isn't completely safe, either. NCAA has been empowered to enforce gambling rules for the most part, as we ISU fans have already experienced. It's going to come down to the nature of the betting -- student athletes cannot bet on any college-level events at all. Only professional is allowed.

The fact that even THAT is allowed is ridiculous imho. You're telling me a 18-25 year old CANNOT abstain from gambling for the very small % of their adult life that they're in college playing a sport in the name of integrity?

Once they graduate, if they want to gamble away all their NIL money, that is their choice. A very stupid one, but keeping them from doing it while playing should be the bare minimum.

I was all on board for legalized sports gambling and I participate myself...I'm one of the really small percentage who actually turn a small profit on it. Even so, I'm starting to come around to the idea that legalized gambling was a mistake for the overall good for college athletics and society in general as a whole.

Under NCAC rules athletes can’t bet on pro sports either, has that been struck down?

No. They talked about changing the rule after the Iowa/Iowa St stuff happened, and might have done so for a year or two, but the rule now is basically the same as it was then

Would they? Do they often schedule power four schools?
I don't think it's totally useful to analyze post-Cody Campbell Texas Tech in the context of pre-Cody Campbell Texas Tech.

If Albaugh/Stine built a $50 million roster in Ames I would want a piece of Sark

I don't love Sark/Texas but the schedule is pretty damn soft:

This is dumb. Texas Tech likely has to go undefeated to make the CFP with their schedule. Texas can probably lose 2-3 games and still get in. So there is not really an advantage there. Sark is an idiot.

The only advantage comes with teams in the Big Ten and SEC that luck into a joke of a schedule but can still get away with losing games just because of the perception of the conference they're in (Penn State).
