Audi Crooks to Transfer

I would counter that since Women's sports lose money it's quite obvious the general public doesn't care about them. Spending extra AD money on them in the current environment would be wasting resources.
Bingo.

Fans will get what they're willing to donate to a degree. It's obvious people are willing to donate to FB & MBB (I think Dresser does well with Wrestling all things considered.)

People act like telling Fennelly to ride off into the sunset and hire a different coach would equal some huge new NIL donations to WBB. And, I just don't see it tbh.

If the rumors of what Jada Williams was offered from UCLA/other powerhouses are true, then we really need a WBB sugar momma or sugar daddy. It's wild to me if the figures are accurate for Jada in NIL. A sport that loses money every year and paying players that kind of money is eye popping (and unsustainable) to me....at least FB & MBB programs ultimately turn a profit.

When you’re the nation’s #2 scorer - it’ll be a lot bigger pool of schools than that. She’s going to have teams lining up wanting to talk…
BY FAR the biggest name in the portal.
I would agree she should have options, I find it odd she dies not have the "do not contact rag" in the portal. No one has locked her up yet.

It’s a total rebuild right now. What difference does one more year make?
I mean, total rebuild and zero momentum aren't really the same thing. Next year could be really, really ugly and, despite the exodus, this is still a program that made the tournament this year. The women's team is probably always going to play second-fiddle to the men's team, but support could be at an all-time low next year without a change and it's definitely going to impact fan interest, financial support, and the kind of coach ISU could realistically target and land.

Nope, I just don't believe this. This is the good of NIL. Young lady has worked hard to increase her value and has the ability to leave a bad situation for a better situation, both playing style and monetarily. This is how the system should work.
Then none of us should be upset they left. It is now free agency to the highest bidder.

Bingo…teaching them to be good people and humble is a challenge these days. Especially when everyone surrounding them often do the opposite. This is what former players always talked about when mentioning what Fennelly and the staff did for them. BUT times have changed and I’m not sure kids today take to those lessons nearly as well.

Explain to me how TJ does it then?

This young people crap drives me crazy. If young people are the problem, then college athletics, where everybody is by definition young, isn’t for you and you need to get out of it.

If she goes to Iowa, she ruins her legacy at Iowa State. i don't care what anyone says. Not sure where else she would go though. Maybe Illinois or somewhere like that.

She's way too slow to play in Iowa's offense.

Men’s wrestling loses tons of money too…does the general public not care about it?
So spending more money on that sport is wasting resources?

******* on the players who leave without publicly saying anything bad about the program is so lame to me. Some girls transfer and all the sudden there are "bad apples" and "entitled players". I guess that leads me to two main thoughts:

A) At some point you have to look at the least common denominator here. Lexi, Deane, Aubrey Joens, Addi, Jada, Audi, etc. All "bad apples", or all people who have realized there are better cultures/opportunities out there for them? The reality is that a player seems to have a shelf life of about 2.5 years here-- and they aren't all problems in the locker room. That's just an easy excuse.

B) Part of coaching in this era is going to be juggling personalities, motivators, etc. That's what made Campbell great. That's what makes TJ great. In an era where everything is so individualized, they created culture and togetherness. That's a coaches job. And if Bill can't do that, he's not fit to run a program in this era.

The wierd part is this season didn’t tank until the injuries. Like last year and the year before I could see things being toxic. But this year didn’t seem particularly toxic.

Who had we beaten prior to the losing streak/injuries other than Iowa?

I don't see how a school like ISU can invest in a non-revenue enhancing sport like WBB in the NIL era. There just isn't broad enough interest in the sport, and there isn't enough money to go around if you're committed to remaining relevant in FB, MBB and wrestling. Add in the reality that WBB is essentially a non-competitive landscape where the same half-dozen programs dominate the sport and go to the Final Four every year, and yeah, doesn't look very optimistic for the Lady Cyclones of the future. They were an "8 seed!" in the NCAAs and got beat by a team that subsequently got smoked by UConn by 50 in the next round. What's the point?

Yes it is a waste. Which is why AD allows Dresser to raise funds for program.

Everything outside of FB and MBB is a niche sport. While they may have some rabid die hard fans the general public doesn't care, well, until something happens then they all the sudden act like they car (see women's gymnastics as Exhibit 1).

I'm not saying it to be mean because I love all sports, but because of the current climate of college sports it's a fact.

Nobody other than grad transfers do, because the portal hasn't opened yet. Addy graduated early, so she is the only one of our transfers actually in the portal at this time.

Window for entering the portal is April 6-20. There is no deadline for picking a new school (other than the practical deadlines).

Biggest question I have is Wilson. Did BF hate her for some reason? She worked her butt off. Solid defender. Decent 3 point shooter. It's like he is incapable of changing his player assessments or his one dimensional schemes.

Maybe it's a dumb reason, but its prestige. Going to a bowl game is a waste of money, but we do it for the prestige. Funding WBB to a competitive level is something you do because it is expected. WBB draws close to double the attendance on average than wrestling.

I do think WBB could use a coach like Dresser who goes out and fund raises on its own.
