“First JR Blount and now Kyle Green. Why are TJ Otzelberger’s assistants fleeing Ames?”
By Travis Hines
Trying to thread the needle and get Kyle while keeping Tuttle on staff. He's a no brainer if they can afford him. I'd truly be sad to lose him on this staff though.
I would have to imagine Tuttle is going to Utah State if he doesn’t get the job. Can’t say I’d blame himTrying to thread the needle and get Kyle while keeping Tuttle on staff.
57?!? No way. That’s like so old. There is no such thing as a slam dunk hire at the MM+ level anymore and I'm of the opinion that young and upside need to win out every single time.
I love KG but he's 57 years old.
They are by far the bottom feeder in terms of money in the MVC. I can’t imagine why he’d be interested. Also, Tuttle married into the Deery family. He's a no brainer if they can afford him. I'd truly be sad to lose him on this staff though.

That's not even close to true from a men's basketball standpoint. They are by far the bottom feeder in terms of money in the MVC. I can’t imagine why he’d be interested. Also, Tuttle married into the Deery family.

UNI has basically decided to starve football to keep MBB competitive.
Just curious about that strategy, knowing in tough seasons football puts 8k-10k in the stands and MBB less than 4k. And I’m not an expert in any way shape or form with UNI’s financials and how it all works. That's not even close to true from a men's basketball standpoint.

If KG had to contact UNI (according to Cole Bair) and not vice versa, I don’t think KG is in line to get the HC job.Trying to thread the needle and get Kyle while keeping Tuttle on staff.
Men's Basketball is the only sport that breaks even due to a small league media distribution (about $300k) and NCAA Tournament distributions. It's also the biggest driver of donations at UNI.Just curious about that strategy, knowing in tough seasons football puts 8k-10k in the stands and MBB less than 4k. Should have resolution tomorrow morning. Both of them are still very much in the mix.If KG had to contact UNI (according to Cole Bair) and not vice versa, I don’t think KG is in line to get the HC job.
Has KG been successful in previous head coaching positions? Is his wife still practicing in CF? I believe Tuttle came back to UNI to reinvent Jake's offense. Do you consider that a success? Is that still his role? If so, does that fit at ISU (if he doesn't get the UNI HC job)?Should have resolution tomorrow morning. Both of them are still very much in the mix.
There's a very real scenario where they just simply switch employers.
Agree. Hope Kyle stays.Has KG been successful in previous head coaching positions? Is his wife still practicing in CF? I believe Tuttle came back to UNI to reinvent Jake's offense. As a Panther fan, I'm hopeful this all turns out well for UNI, but losing Green would be a huge loss for TJ and I'm not convinced Tuttle is the answer.
They played extremely slow this past year. Half court offense generally looked competent though, imo.Has KG been successful in previous head coaching positions? Is his wife still practicing in CF?
