When do you think you will buy a 100% pure electric vehicle?

Are they not already somewhere between niche and common? I see at least one every day I go somewhere. Frequently more than one. I'd say I see them about the same rate I see a typical sports car or so. They aren't as common as the average F-150 Family Hauler everyone has now, but it's not like exotic car rarity by any means.
Mrs. CyCoug thinks it's about time we upgrade a car. She really likes Mazda CX-5s, which are fine cars. But she's also ok looking at EVs and hybrids (which the Mazda CX-5 does not have). So I put together this handy comparison guide of the Mazda CX-5 along with most/all current EV and hybrids (using AI of course). The scoring is my own formula weighting total fuel cost, reliability, total cost of ownership etc.

Your spreadsheet is going to favor the least expensive vehicle. It's probably not fair to compare a prius and a highlander, unless nothing matters except $$
I think it would be a crime not to test drive some of these vehicles. There are a bunch of cars on your list which score near the top, that are just not great vehicles and much worse than some below.
Oh right. Yes. I said we were targeting lightly used cars under 25,000 miles and around $30k.
Gotcha. Why both fuel economy and fuel cost? Also, if you're buying used, wouldn't depreciation be a good thing?

I started out with fuel economy but wanted to see the premium /savings of an EV specifically to the CX-5 gas model based on our driving habits so added it in later.
Yes depreciation would be good thing for buying used. The used component was another thing added in round 2 after asking for a comparison list of all recent EV/hybrids.

You’re welcome. That was probably 30 minutes max of prompting, reviewing, and fine tuning with Claude. I can work on a sortable version tomorrow. But we have some important non-basketball TV viewing to catch up on tonight.

We're somewhat in the exploratory phase but our search is very focused mostly on two particular models not yet available. I may use my old spreadsheet to talk the boss out of it (TCO comparison of what we have today to what she wants...)
Adult ones, so it's usually just 2 of us or me commuting to work.
For gas cars when I rent one, I forget to turn them off if they have auto start/stop all the time. Can never figure out why I can't lock the car. And I also forget to lock my wifes car when we go places.
Well, if this is a serious question I will give a serious answer. You don’t. You would have to get a tow to a charging station.
The other part of the answer, these are early days. Once adoption reaches some level, then tow trucks will include a battery to give EV's a 50 mile charge roadside. Enough to get someone to a charging station.
I think the new CX-50 has a traditional hybrid model now? That may be worth looking into, pretty sure the drivetrain was lifted from the last-gen Rav4 hybrid. Would be very similar mechanically.
