There's a difference between the floor being "safe" to play on and being something the players are used to playing on. Christian Anderson said in his postgame yesterday "the floor is a bit slippery". Some of our guys had been changing their shoes over the past couple of days. Clearly it feels at least somewhat different and probably takes some amount of adjustment to playing on. It doesn't mean it's garbage and will never make a return in the future. I'm sure there are a lot of things that went into this decision; player safety, liability, and optics for the league. I'm also sure that many are making a way bigger deal out of it than it probably is.
