*** Official #16 Texas Tech vs #4 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

Just imagine how bad the offense will be next year if it seems bad now.
Toure and Batemon will only be better, and quite frankly, Lipsey is bringing nothing to the table on offense so offensively, his spot could easily be upgraded on that side of the ball. Momcilovic isn’t leaving early. Jefferson is going to be the biggest hole by far to fill next year.

We won’t win any meaningful games with Toure and Batemon going 1/13 from the field.

Big 3 were fine today. They got no help from anyone else.
We desperately need Batemon to get more consistent and playing 25 minutes per game to close out this season, just to give defenses another threat on the perimeter.

I give you TCU and Cincinnati.
If bad losses against a team that is going to be in the tourney more than likely with wins over Iowa State, Florida, and Wisconsin as well as a team that beat Kansas in Phog by basically 20, Iowa State, and other tourney team UCF by 20 are your examples, so be it.

How do you know Milan isn't leaving?

Lipsey had his share of terrible games as a freshman. Toure will be fine.

I vividly recall Tamin going off the rails late in the game in Lubbock his freshman year. Couldn't (or didn't) handle the pressure that Tech put on him at the end of the game. But to his credit, he's never had a game that bad since. Hoping the same for Toure, but for him it's more systemic (on offense, anyway).

What worries me about Toure is that his jump shot is not even close. He also doesn’t have what it takes to be a good PG. He is an elite defender but also SG with no shooting touch.

Starting back court combined to go 3-16 from the field and 0-7 from 3. Jefferson was not the problem today

That data, coupled with Tech shooting out of their ass (we gave them a lot of those looks), is the reason we lost today. If even two-three of those threes go down today for a combo of Tamin, Toure, or "other", Hilton Magic brings us all the way back, or we're not in that positin to begin with.

You remember lipseys jumper his freshman year? Lol

I disagree with the bolded. He is obviously not making 3's and I'm sure he would agree that he didn't have a good offensive game today, but to say he brings nothing is an exaggeration. Even today, he forced the action and drew fouls, making 7 of 10 fts.

I would be pretty surprised if he left early. Outside of being a great three point shooter, he doesn't do much that would excite NBA teams.

I have no idea if he'll declare for the draft, but the film on his game will also show how teams scheme for the switch to get him on one of their guards. And it's working. Milan's D has improved greatly, but he's getting picked on currently. Not sure how that impacts his professional potential.
