*** Official #16 Texas Tech vs #4 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

we are not going to make a run with defense. Tech isn't the only skilled athletic team out there. Those type of teams solve our D. To win in the NCAA tournament you need to be able to score with people too, and our half court offense is not good enough.
They made it to a sweet 16 with a more challenged offensive team than this bunch.

Do you think we look good right now. Lose bad to BYU, beat a bad Utah team in a game we were not very good and get run by Tech at home. Should we not be worried? What if we get crushed at Arizona?
Exactly. 2-1 finish was likely, 3-0 finish was on the table… now 1-2 is the absolute best case scenario at this point.

There is a lot to be concerned about with this team.

When we bring our A game, we can beat anyone. But we don't bring our A game very often. The team is very inconsistent. Teams are not letting Milan get looks, we can't make free throws, rebounding is an issue. This is a team with a sweet 16 ceiling.
The infuriating thing is we've seen how good this team can be. If the same team that ran Purdue out of their home gym shows up in March, they can make a final 4 run. If this team shows up, we could lose in the round of 32

7 minutes to go 4 of their guys with 4 fouls and only one fouls out. Need to attack them Also their coach does enough bithching to get in refs head

Allowing T Tech to shoot these percentages is inexcusable. Don't care that our offense was ass. It's going to be if the other team shoot so well. And spare me "they were just hot today". They had a better plan, were better coached, executed better, and made us there you know what.
No dawgs on this team. Too nice, too soft

“TJ not being an actual basketball coach” when a week ago we were a #1 seed, we are ranked #4 and are still a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Losing games suck but we’ve only done it 5 times all year so saying the coach sucks and coaching basketball is an idiotic take.
He has never drawn up an offensive play in timeouts. And Green spearheads our defensive philosophy.

Tell me again - how is TJ a BASKETBALL COACH?

Lipsey coming into today was:
46% field goal
28% 3 point percentage
64% free throws

All only getting worse after today.
I suspect he has been hiding an injury. All his deep shots hit the front of the rim, as if he can't put his legs into it.

No, I don't think we look good right now. That's no excuse for adults to act like crybabies and slam their own team over one game.

Pretty rough day for Lipsey and Toure. They both had some great looks in the first half during Techs run and they weren’t even close.

This is, what, the third time this season that a team goes scorched earth with their play against us.
I have so many things to post, but it won’t matter anyway. Fug.

We've been losing to these teams sans their best or at least top 2 players also. Certainly not trending well at the most pivotal point in the season.
