*** Official #5 IOWA STATE vs TCU Game(Day) Thread ***

KU + UH wins will more than wash this loss.

At this point it doesn’t really matter though. ISU is making the tourney, they’re out of the running to win the conference, and a 1 seed (already remote) is entirely out of the question. Not that their play deserved it, regardless of record.

Those two wins would make an argument for a 2 seed, but that’s all. They’ll be somewhere between a 2 and 5 seed, and I don’t really think any number in there is more likely to get them further in the tourney than another with their penchant to just disappear against mediocre teams.

In short, IMO, not a ton left to play for in the regular season, and I don’t actually think these games matter a ton.

Just beyond disappointing, up 5 and TCU ends on a 10-0 run because we continued to dribble around or turn it over, this team is full of frauds just like last year and will get bounced second round or sweet 16. Not sure Iowa state will ever make a final 4 tbh. Might as well just try to enjoy making the tourney
JFC man. Why do you even ******* bother watching? Pretty easy solution. You clearly can't stand our 'frauds'...go find something that makes you happy. My ******* god

How can you have the best shooter in the country on your team... and you never have plays drawn up to get him open looks?? Instead... the ball is in JJ's hands most of the game. Just so frustrating to watch this crap.
Because no one else on the team was a threat at all tonight. They can just focus on him because they know that’s basically all our offense is.

It's a weird reality we occupy as fans where (prior to this debacle tonight) my team was 21-2, ranked in the top five most of the team, and still I wasn't sure if we're actually all that good. Seems to be a rather common sentiment among our fanbase.
It is the inconsistently. ISU can beat anyone due to how hard and smart they can play, but even their best players have flaws that get exposed if Team is not all playing together and shooting well.

Yeah I mean I watch Arizona, Houston, Duke, Michigan and they all look terrifying as top 5 teams. I watch us and while we have moments we look unbeatable we also have so many moments where we aren’t intimidating because we’re our own worst enemy and make a lot of mistakes that title contenders don’t make.

Geez, I know we're all fanatics prone to overreaction bevause of our Cyclonepassion, but we're fine. These kinds of games happen. Illinois has looked unstoppable and they lost to a meh Wisky team tonight. Nebraska has hit a skid.

We'll rebound by winning a couple of these big upcoming games and we'll all be flying high again.
Losing to Cincinnati AND TCU this season is unacceptable in my opinion. If we are as good as we all figured. Losing to the KUs or Houston’s don’t hurt that much

We just lost to a team who got beat by New Orleans at home.

Colorado beat TCU by 30.

But sure, we’re beating Kansas by 20.
And ISU beat Colorado by 30

So you’re saying we would had won by 60 tonight? Your logic makes no sense. Well, to be fair, most of what you post doesn’t make much sense anyway

For a coach that prides himself on defense we never get stops when we actually need them. Our d was pathetic the last 3 minutes.

That was a horribly coached game by TJ. Terrible use of timeouts. You are not an Elite program when you continally lose on the road to crappy opponents.
That trap on Tamin he never adjusted to, and it's an easy fix. Totally outcoached.

I am going to keep supporting them, but I think a loosing string is about to happen. To me it looked like they could care less about this game, just like the Cinny game. So if they don’t care, I don’t care where they end up

If you took a drink every time a player picked up his dribble 8 feet behind the arc with no plan for what to do next, you'd die.
How is it our ball handlers were constantly getting trapped near the half court line with no where to go with the ball.... against the 2nd shortest team in the land? Teams with real dudes like ones we are about to play are going to go to school on this game file. TJ and the staff better come up with answers quick.
