*** Official Baylor vs #7 IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

I wouldn't call Toure's play a disaster, but he obviously made freshman mistakes. Also had a huge, gamechanging play.
Lipsey was just as bad as Toure in the final minute. Lipsey turned it over and missed a FT with 18 seconds left that could have sealed the W.

I'm honestly not too surprised that we didn't cover the spread, but the last two minutes were painful to watch.

I think a natural regression in performance after how well we played the previous four games isn't unexpected. We still have an 85 in game score when I checked T-rank a few minutes ago. It does give us something to focus on before @ TCU.

Baylor is playing better and their length bothers us. Same thing happened in Waco. We didn’t play an A game today but did enough to win. We are the deeper, better team and showed it in the second half. Should have won this one by 10+ but took the foot off the gas at the end. I hated how we played the last 90 seconds. That’s the complete opposite of Cyclone basketball.

Batemon's +/- today was +16 in 13 minutes which is insane. His +/- was far and away the highest. Only three players had a positive +/- today. Batemon, Lipsey and Buchanan. Everyone else was negative.

3 guys on Baylor played all 40 minutes and they still had enough in the gas tank for a 11-0 run to finish. Poor effort poor focus by ISU.

Heise would've been, except he was in during that last 2 minute debacle.

Getting outscored 11-0 in the final 2 minutes of a W has to be pretty rare. Baylor closed the gap largely without fouling. Heise missed a 3 with 1:13 left. Lipsey had a bad inbound pass with 48 seconds left. Toure threw away a pass with 44 seconds left. Baylor cut it to 72-66 with 39 seconds left. That's when they waited too long to foul Lipsey (with only 18 seconds left).

ISU relaxed too much with the 14-point lead. But I agree with others that ISU extended a lot of energy getting the lead back in the 2nd half. Any W against Baylor is a good W.
