CW POD: Is pro wrestling fun again?

That was the correct ending. Fans pissed can **** off. That how wrestling goes with you on your back in your last match.
Totally disagree. The entire run was poorly booked, give him the win. Sometimes you do something just for the fans that spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars supporting your product. Hell, they had Jay tap out Gunther for that exact reason.

Even you want him to go out with a loss, whatever. Then put over someone who needs it, and not with a tap.

Horrible decision to cap off one of WWEs worst years in a long time. I hope they flip it on HHH and cheer Gunther.

Kind of feels like Cena had way too much input on the whole year. He's never been a guy that really understands booking.

I think Gunther is talented, obviously, but I also find him kind of uninteresting. Big guy that chops and uses sarcasm isn't exactly enthralling.

In general, I agree with the ending - it’s about building up the future, not being nostalgic about the past.

That being said, I think of guys like Theory and Solo and recognize beating Cena doesn’t necessarily guarantee a bright future. But Walter seems different.

The retirement tour itself was unfortunate. Had a purpose the first few months and then seemed to have lost all direction.

I think the retirement tour screwed up a whole year's worth of booking too. It was hard to have many good storylines with Cena taking up so many main events, with most of them having zero buildup or story to it. They haven't elevated anyone in the last year. LA Knight ****** off the wrong people, Cody has become boring, Jey's matches stink, Roman is gone, Brock is old and no one cares, Seth can't stay healthy, Punk has become kind of "meh", they keep jobbing Drew. It's just a boring product.

Opening tonight was brilliant. Never been more invested in Gunther than right now.

Also Punk's promo on Breaker was chefs kiss. He destroyed him.

Agreed. All you had to do was watch that segment tonight with Gunther to know HHH made the right decision despite all the heat he took for it all weekend. The heat was nuclear.

Which is why I got sick of how everyone dogged this ending, while continuously praising how Sting was retired in AEW - as the winner of a tag match. Not to mention Sting, being from the old school, should have known better - that you go out with your back on the mat, not with your arm raised in the air. His win literally benefitted nobody.

Anybody who knows wrestling knows you go out with your back on the mat; not with your arm raised in the air. Winning on your way out benefits nobody.

John Cena understanding this means he literally gets it.

Just goes back to the fact that Sting could have been 10x the star he was but Steve Borden was too nice.

He allowed people to walk all over him because he couldn't say no and I'm guessing that's exactly what happened on the way out.

how the hell do i find the Rumble. hearing my Peacock sub isnt gonna get it done.

Dang...seeing im stuck paying $30 for a month of ESPN unlimited to watch it. Anyone else have a diff way?

ESPN unlimited comes with my Hulu w/live TV/Disney+/ESPN subscription, so that's how I'm getting it.

That said, the only reason I'm watching is because it's Royal Rumble. I make a point to watch as few as the Saudi shows as possible because participating in the sports washing makes me feel dirty. It would be one thing if this show were taking place in Dubai, but these WWE shows make me feel "ick".

You'd probably have to pay for a decent one if you don't already have it, so it's likely not worth the added cost.
Yeah just read Netflix cam detect the free ones. ugh must might have to read a recap. Gotta love a billion dollar industry alienating fans.

I have espn unlimited but imo this is first Rumble in awhile not very excited for.

WWE's product hasn't been very good for awhile now.

Both men's tag team titles are irrelevant. Haven't done anything with Jade as champ and they have turned Stephanie into a shell of what she was in NXT.
