*** Official #2 IOWA STATE vs Cincinnati Game(Day) Thread ***

I think it’s mostly mental. He is forcing too much and seems like it is also impacting his defense.

On the paint he needs to catch the ball, maybe one drible max and if it is not there quick it back out. We have capable shooters and one elite shooter.
One dribble max should be his rule. He has so many turnovers of the dribble.

Just saw that UConn almost lost to a terrible Georgetown team today.

Still in the ballgame after another miserable 1st half. Do at least 2-3 of the 5 things listed below better and they'll be in it to the buzzer...Or ISU can win it easily if they improve on 4-5 of them:

1. Cut down turnovers
2. Turn them over more
3. Make FTs
4. Make 3pters
5. Rebound
Can't argue with the list but I would put rebounding way higher. Just pathetic on the glass today.

I hate bringing up anything related to Iowa... but for those that remember the Iowa Tom Davis teams from way back... they actually played really intense defense like we do now... Chris Street was an animal on defense... BUT... they also played like 10-12 guys in constant rotation. He'd take all 5 guys on the floor out, and put 5 new ones in.... like a hockey game.

TJ refuses to do that... and you have to wonder if our guys just get worn out after a while? Cinci is outhustling our guys on nearly every possession. We looked dead tired and uninterested at KU... and about the same today. Just look gassed.

No you love bringing up some BS about ******* Iowa from over 30 years ago in a program built about as opposite of NIL/current era as possible.

And Tom's teams overall were just kind of decent with an occasional Sw 16 outside of years with Raveling's players.

You want some NIT years mixed in?

Houston doesn’t seem to have a problem with this, nor does Cincinnati. What I can’t figure out about this team is they literally just stop passing the ball for stretches, and when your offense is one and done in 10 seconds your defense is going to suffer over the course of a game. You see today all it takes is one bucket and the defense seems to get better. I’m sure the coaches know this. I don’t know why the players are struggling so much to execute

Officiating going to lose this game, unless they get the physicality under control. See less mugging in football.

Reading TJ’s lips after the Cincinnati player was mouthing off to Lipsey, TJ was yelling at the refs ‘see that’s what you get’. I am assuming that TJ was complaining about the physicality that the refs were allowing.

Cincy took 13 more shots than us in that half. Obviously got avoid that on H2.

That dude literally wasn’t playing defense, so I’d be as hot as Otz too. He’s not even pretending to move his feet and just grabbing. I don’t know why it took the refs so long to call it other than they’re scared of the home coach and crowd

He needs to be more of a passing point forward than a dribbling point forward. When we watch Jokic, the best to ever do that, he doesn’t really put the ball on the floor unless he has a great drive to the basket, he’s not putting it on the floor to drive and kick. His “point guard” game is basically stationary.

Somebody with size, height and muscle who can be an off the dribble point guard is super rare, Magic is really the only one I’ve seen do it flawlessly. LBJ to a lesser degree. It’s not a big list. Almost nobody and that’s for good reason.
Royce White thinks you are a new fan to ISU.

Brend said these guys “suck and their coach sucks more”. What an idiot- no one in this conference sucks and he continues to talk **** about KU and now the team he has been kicking our ass all half.
This is not about anyone in particular, but you don't need any knowledge or particular insight or intelligence to be a sports commentator, enough of an science just needs to find you entertaining.
