Who cares
People that actually think saying those things should actually have meaning, not just some copy and paste bs. And saying them without meaning it, and overusing them, devalues their actual meaning, especially to those that they do mean something, care.

Or maybe people that just think saying those things without them actually having meaning is just cringey.

Is it a huge deal, no, but it is cringey.

Thought they looked awkward. I don’t really get the idea of bringing a football player to a basketball game, especially if your game atmosphere sucks like Baylor’s. Just sitting next to each other in a semi silent gym for 2 and a half hours to watch teams you didn’t give a **** about until 2 days ago.
Game was one of their better ones since #3 team was visiting

Hasn't lived up to the hype yet but think he can get there eventually. Has been injured quite a bit though. Needs to stay healthy.
More important than health, he needs to throw the ball to the correct team! Injury and turnover prone. You can see why a Baylor would take a swing though because the upside is high end.

Ken Miller and KXNO once wondered out loud if when PSU played Iowa the PSU AD made a side trip to Ames. A lot of things do line up that would make that make sense.
I think this has been acknowledged here before…. Likely where that bozo miller picked it up . Seems like a plausible scenario….
And all other noise about the other “ candidates “ was just distraction

Good for them. He was at the game last night with Aranda. When they showed them on the broadcast, my first thought was if you’re Baylor at what point do you stop bringing recruits to basketball games because it makes you look bad? Their atmosphere and fan base at basketball games is piss poor, borderline embarrassing.

I guess when you throw a multi million dollar bag at a guy, all that goes out the window.
Have you seen the Baylor cheer squad? That has to be a help.....!

As of this moment, we have the most transfer portal commitments in the country.
Iowa State 31
Oklahoma State 29
Penn State 24
South Florida 23
Arkansas 21
Wisconsin 21
Colorado 21
Also little fun fact:
Notre Dame has 15 outgoing transfers and ZERO incoming as of right now.

Penn State also has 44 guys in the portal. They might catch us yet.
Imagine being a Penn State fan, and seeing Franklin bring in all these top 10 recruiting classes with high 4 and 5 star kids, then they hire a new coach who is alienating those recruits, and overpaying 3 star guys from a "lowly" B12 program. Couldnt happen to a better fan base, imo

It is just a recruiting gimmick from a different era.

Xavier Townsend has visits with Florida State, Notre Dame, Purdue and Missouri.
I'd be curious if some name schools are bringing in portal guys and the pitch is more about playing for a blue blood vs. a kid making a bunch of money. Two prong approach. First, bring in high-end elite guys and throw them bundles of cash. Second approach is jettison bottom 20 of last year's roster and bring in depth guys who will be more than dead weight. And if coaching staff guesses right, might actually have player who gets some snaps.

"Come play at FSU, you can compete for playing time, we'll give you a scholarship and all the free Nike clothes you want- a lifetime supply per se"

That said, if he wants to play, Purdue's his Home.

I remember when I was getting recruited to run track at Iowa State I went to the basketball games and football games with a few of the kids on the track team. It was a pretty good time- Granted I grew up an Iowa State fan my whole life and I was going to Iowa State regardless. But my point is I went with the kids on the team not the coaches. The coaches were in the building but sitting with their families and we met back up after the game for supper. I saw last night and thought that looked plenty boring for the kid. I wonder how much everyone still on break played into the visit for him. Yes I know a bag of cash offsets all that, but still.
