Fair point I get that tooWe ain’t getting any credit for it, so that team going 6-6 would be far more satisfying.

Iowa state should have been 10-2 at worst this season. Bad coaching(Colorado and Cincinnati ) and injuries on defense really hurt this team from achieving what it was capable of. People are really downplaying the talent ISU had this season.
And stuck with a head coach that doesn't want to be here. And we were lucky not to be 4-8. We could have easily lost to KSU, Iowa, Ark. State, and TCU.

Highly doubt this happens. Can't speak for coaches since then, but can confirm that under Walden, during two-a-days (before students were even on campus) newcomers were brought into a meeting room and taught the fight song. I have to believe every coach before and since understands the importance of Iowa State Fights and treats it similarly. It's not so much the individual players as much as it is the numbers. No retention; basically burning everything to the ground and starting over at Ground Zero. No continuity of culture. The tradition of singing the fight song in the locker room after victories is probably dead. Not saying 2026 can't be competitive, but it's tough building from scratch in football. If this team manages to make it to a bowl game I'll be super happy.
Is it MAL-uh-KAI or Muh-LAH-kee. Just figured I'd start saying it wrong now...
We all know this will be the narrative. It'll come out of the MC camp and the pundits will lap it up because it's what they want to believe.ISU is in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation if Penn State does well next year:
Narrative should be, “Wow this middle of the road XII roster was really competitive at the top of the B1G. Hmmm.”
Instead it will probably be, “Look what Matt Campbell was able to achieve once he finally escaped the shackles of poverty in Ames, IA.”
I Agree, maybe earlier. Then timing of our slide leads me again to speculate about when Cambell's eye started to wander towards "Happy" Valley
100% agree. We all know this will be the narrative. It'll come out of the MC camp and the pundits will lap it up because it's what they want to believe.
Ken Miller and KXNO once wondered out loud if when PSU played Iowa the PSU AD made a side trip to Ames. A lot of things do line up that would make that make sense. Then timing of our slide leads me again to speculate about when Cambell's eye started to wander towards "Happy" Valley
I would rather welcome him to Iowa State than nitpick.Loyal Sons Forever True is an objectively funny message from a kid who committed to Nevada, flipped to New Mexico State (after Nevada’s coach left to be fair), enrolled there for one year, transferred to Wazzu, played there for one year, and is now on his third college.
Not dogging this kid specifically but the portal era, man…
He's not picking at the player he's commenting on the weird experience this new transfer era affords us all, players, coaches, fans.I would rather welcome him to Iowa State than nitpick.
From an interview I saw from Defensive line coach Jalon Bibbs a reporter pronounced it as Muh- Lah-KeeIs it MAL-uh-KAI or Muh-LAH-kee. Just figured I'd start saying it wrong now...
