So we can't question Pollard on here anymore?

I think that rumor was part of the basis of the whole statement about it being preventable
What was the Stine rumor? I recall Blum joking if someone had a contact to let him know.

If someone thinks there’s some connection with Stine I feel confident that he doesn’t give two ***** about ISU athletics.

I'm not going to read 20 pages of this but shutting down conversation around the issue, on multiple occasions, in an environment where conversation is occasionally moderated but virtually never shut down, is incredibly weak and only adds credibility to the idea that CF functions as the PR arm of the athletic department.
In the 20 pages, there's not really much concrete or actionable criticism. This is the TLDR:

1. Pollard out of touch with NIL and not working hard enough to secure donations - majority of Cyclone fans appear to not agree with this stance as people criticizing don't propose viable solutions that resolve the issue and have the best interests of the AD in mind.
2. Pollard not doing a good job + bad hires - Easily disputed as all of our sports are doing pretty well right now.
3. Pollard not forward thinking on new revenue opportunities - Disputed with CyTown development.
4. Pollard not allowing alcohol in the stadium (outside of premium seating) - One argument is the small amount of money to be made here is not worth the headache but the other argument is that we should be doing all we can to make money.

Not sure if I missed anything, but I think these are the main points.

Exactly. I never understood why he was even brought up, he has no ties to ISU

The teams are performing great. How can we make sure that continues? Doesn't that make our coaches more attractive elsewhere? If there are things we can do to retain them - and I don't know what all those things are - shouldn't we try? Or do we just assume all is well, nothing to see here? Do you ever ask questions about things or just plod cluelessly forward in life? Must be nice and easy. Stress free I guess. Jesus dude.
Ok....so when somebody offers TJ double what he makes here, and double the NIL he had here...what would your plan be?

I don’t understand why it’s so hard to agree that:

1. Pollard has been an incredible AD for ISU
2. He is not fit for the NIL era that we now find ourselves in

Pollard has been great, but he needs to step aside before he tanks our athletics.
People here (and most places, to be fair) insist on making everything mutually exclusive. You are either 100% good or 100% bad. You question anything and you're a hater.

* Question why so many people are leaving = you're hoping Rogers fails
* Criticize Campbell = you have no appreciation for the last 10 years
* Say Rocco isn't a "Cyclone forver" = you hope he suffers a career ending injury and never sees the field again
* Ask any basic questions about Pollard's approach to NIL =. you don't realize the good things he's done for the university.

Rinse and repeat.

Pollard falls asleep after the ball drops in New York!

Would rather bring in the right guy for the job and hey maybe that is Rodgers. Let’s all hope so. The way he was hired though doesn’t give me a ton of confidence and seems like a panic move.
Rogers

Ohio-ISU football in 2023 with Campbell trying to fight that fan after the game. lol
For me, I’d add Tim Floyd leaving for the Bulls. He doesn’t get enough love for the good things he did. Innovative guy, great recruiter.

Might as well throw the Eustachy debacle in there.

Your second point would hold water if to there was actual water to him tanking NIL and athletics. Do you have concrete evidence of that?

Pollard clearly made an emotional decision hiring a new coach hours after he lost Campbell. A real plan means calling a variety of candidates and getting input from advisors before you pull the trigger. Maybe that all happened behind the scenes but the story we’ve been fed is that Pollard had a bro down with Rodgers at a conference several years ago and basically promised him the job if Matt ever left. That’s not due diligence that’s a backroom deal. Maybe it will work out but it doesn’t give me a lot of confidence in the new staff. And if the entire team is gonna leave anyway why rush the process?
You and the other nim-rods that think like this are either too young to have listened to him on numerous occasions, have a stick up your butt against him, are just too plain ignorant to understand the intricacies of his position, or are a part of a generation that thinks money grows on trees. Sorry for the abruptness, but these types of posts do nothing but take up valuable reading space.

Interesting to see that thread closed down so fast. Some of you need to open your eyes and ears and stop being bootlicking sheep.
I give you a carrot because I don’t know what is a lie and what is the truth about Pollard. Only thing that truly pissed me off was announcing a new football coach during the team meeting where Campbell was breaking the news he was leaving. It could have waited for an hour and not announced it when the meeting was happening.

Also, I don’t think any of us writing him a letter telling him he has been dismissed will work.

Because there was a rumor that someone said they Old man Stine was going to make Campbell’s NIL dreams come true and give him the old moneyshot. But JP said the money had to go through the University and fund the Rev sharing first so he wouldn’t accept it.

Now, seriously, what’s it take, 5 seconds to punch a few holes in that whole idea?

That’s quintessential Pollard. Steal Campbells thunder. Put Iowa State first. That was epic actually.
