I keep seeing people say this, or “it’ll be fun when we start bringing guys in”.
I honestly don’t get it. Granted I don’t really follow football recruiting but I’m trending to casual fandom and it just seems all bad.

I equally don't give a **** about Campbell or the players. I was over Campbell in a second after hearing the confirmation he was gone. I only care about one team and that's Iowa State. I only started following the NFL casually a couple years ago and I don't have a team, I cheer for the teams with a guy that has their name displayed on the screen with the college: Iowa State.
If you have contact with Mark Cuban and you've been holding out on us....man oh man!
The PSU leading rusher in their bowl game had yet to have a 1 on 1 with Campbell as of Saturday.
Other than the 15+- guys from ISU that he is taking to PSU, I'd be surprised if Campbell or his staff are giving ANY advice to former ISU players.
That's the job of their agent. In the end, money talks. And realistically there are 40+ P4 schools who are spending more than the Clones.
Id rather have what we had, with another year of experience.
But I used to be an NFL fan that liked the draft better than a random game.
I like the hope & optimism every once in a while I guess.
But if we're doing this again next year.....
How do I break it to my grandkids that we have eliminated their presents and gifts so I can fund NIL for Cyclone football players so they can afford new cars and six figure incomes while going to school? Because the most important thing is these players need more money.

Its funny, I dont mind Hassel that much. Of all the Hawks I have ever met or spent any time around he is about as mild as they come. He is most of the time very obviously making jokes and light trolling at most. And a lot of times does it mostly light heartedly and in good fun, it seems. That being said I have been around a lot of absolutely awful hawks over the years, so he seems pretty tame.
I know it is his schtick and for the most part I find him harmless. My issue is there is no counter to him, there is no ISU fan on there that will give it back to him and the hawk fans, equally.
CW etc are to PC when it comes to their dishing it back to him and the hawk fans. It is tough I am sure for CW because he is a business owner, and it is his job to try to stay impartial to not upset the fragile egos of the hawk fanbase. But it would be nice if there was someone on there that was willing to dish it right back at Hassel and Downs etc. to keep it at least even both ways.

Then Jimmy needs another 15m or so in NIL. That’s the dirty little secret that few talk about. Yes, he brought a bunch of players with him, and he is strong in schematics. But they’ve spent heavily on Mendoza and others. Lot of financial support from that school. Hard to win at the level he is without the smack.
