***Official portal tracker thread***

If CF continues to post each abandonment on social media platforms, I won't be part of that indiscretion. It's ok to advertise CF as the source of portal activity, but when there are 10 times more single posts of people leaving vs what's coming in, that's just plain stupid social media strategy. It depicts Iowa State in a VERY poor manner. Put another way, it in no way is helping Iowa State or the new coach. Use some class, discretion and/or restraint and do what's best for Iowa State.

Alternatively:

The social media story about the Cyclone exodus is a fantastic advertisement telling any dissatisfied players across the country there is P4 playing time and NIL cash to be had in Ames.

What Bruce did at ISU was nothing short of impossible. Not only the money advantage for the Nebraska's and Oklahoma's.......but there was no scholarship limit. Those schools stock piled all the studs and KEPT them for 4 years. Remember "red shirts"?

I doubt Campbell would have survived much more than a few seasons at ISU against those odds.
And Bruce is still the ONLY ISU Football Coach with three consecutive seasons of 8 or more wins (1976-7-8).

When am i going to get payed my NIL as a fan? After praying, thinking, and consulting, I have decided to enter the transfer portal. I thank ISU athletics for the joy they have brought me, and wish them luck in the future. I am commiting to ohio state.

Does Rogers know ISU is an FBS school and can have up to 105 scholarship players? Just making sure he isn’t trying to cut the roster down to 63 like he had at SDSU…I’m only kidding but seriously
You understand that at SDSU he could have as many players as Iowa State it was just he could only offer 63 scholarships, but they could offer 1/2 scholarships so they technically could have more on scholarship than 63?

I respect your perspective, but all-the-same it'll only post on those that follow CF. So, I 'unfollowed' CF on FB. I'll wait until fall cause daily exposure is depressing. I'll poke my head in here once in awhile.

probably... just like Chizik. And just like Chizik... if he does win a natty there, it will likely not have much to do with Matt, but he'll get all the credit.
Difference is CFP. Chizek didn’t have to negotiate a playoff to get his Natty. Matt’s going to have to go .500 against the best 4 teams on his schedule, not stub his toe against any others, and win three or four games against top teams. Not impossible, but a tough road. But I get the point. It would be sooo Iowa State

So you'll only bash him for one season?
I generally try not to bash players too much... but have always had no problem criticizing coaches since they get paid a ton of money. But now with players getting paid to win also.... one could make the argument they can be criticized too.
In today's game... I don't have a big issue with criticizing players for dropping a pass in their hands, or fumbling, etc... as long as it doesn't get personal. I've looked at it this way... if I were a player and I fumbled, I would criticize myself too, so why wouldn't fans? But any fan throwing out personal insults to players is going way too far. I apologize to any players if in the heat of a game I ever got personal.

Both are better than what we had
Both are better than any of our starting LBs last year? Like Bacon and McLaughlin for example? Or Brezina?

If so... that would be great!! I trust you if you've looked at film. Both are kinda short, right? Both 6'1" I think, right?

Really? Anything is possible of course but a lot would have to happen for that to have occurred.

I just hope iowa does a national search. I'm worried they'll just give the job

Money. It's money. No heart or god involved.
Not that I care, by all means, grab it while it's available. I would.

*there are probably a few people caught up in this who are leaving because they actually just want playing time, got passed up, etc
I learned this lesson long ago and it has served me well: “Anytime you don’t know the answer to something, the answer is usually MONEY.” No doubt some looking for playing time or don’t fit CJR’s schemes, but the vast majority have an agent in their ear. Players know Iowa State’s NIL limitations. That’s it.

It's news.

Then he'll no longer be a Cyclone.... so I won't care about him anymore. Why is this so hard for people to understand?
It is the new normal. You get to be mad at a new set of players every year. Maybe not 40, but enough good players to get some riled up annually.

He’s got an easier schedule than ISU next season
