I wish all these kids well and wish they were staying, but undoubtedly, some are going to be leaving thinking they'll improve their circumstances and are going to find themselves at a lesser program

And you can also just be pissed at the current state of college athletics. Thanks for saving me the trouble. I thought we were way past all that crap.
I'm never going to mock a man for crying, but I also can't take your reporting seriously if you get this emotionally connected to people on the inside. I'm sorry, it's just not how it works for me.
I've also heard this explanation thrown out on the other pods. "The fans just don't understand how modern football works, that's why they're so pissed." Nice strawman argument. I guarantee you the average fan understands that players are paid and can transfer at any time. That's not what we're all pissed about. We're pissed because a man took over our program, became the face of our athletics, while preaching "loyalty" and telling us how he was so different than all the other coaches out there. He was not. He left for more money and a chance to win a NC. That's all.
I'm through the grieving process. I'm just pissed at Campbell and will always root against him. Just how it is for me.
And appears to be a complete ******* as he goes out the back door. This is dramatic. He left for a 7 million dollar raise. Closer to home. 30 mil a year to put a team together. Blue blood program. He was here for 10 years and elevated the program to it's highest level ever. Stop being so bitter.
Are you just as upset that the coach were bringing in left his team after just one year? You're not wrong about it. I will always root against the guy. Period.
Yeah I like Chris and enjoy what CF and Iowa Everywhere puts out but yeah you can't take him that serious as a "tried and true" journalist IF that is what he wants at this point. But maybe he doesn't want to be looked at that way. I'm sure his old ISU Journalism professors would be nauseated at how close he is to the coaches and players though.I'm never going to mock a man for crying, but I also can't take your reporting seriously if you get this emotionally connected to people on the inside. I'm sorry, it's just not how it works for me.
Sowell had hands like he was trying to catch a ball with a pizza pan.Sowell, Same, Cornell and Brown all in the portal
Jeremiah Cooper clears up how the Campbell guys really feel about ISU fans..
You are correct. About 9.2 mil. So a 4 million dollar raise.I thought he was 9-10, not 12?
Nope. I have no investment in Rogers yet other than he's on our team now and I hope he does well. If he leaves I won't root for him, either. You're either on our team or you're not.Are you just as upset that the coach were bringing in left his team after just one year?
Appreciate the consistencyNope. I have no investment in Rogers yet other than he's on our team now and I hope he does well. If he leaves I won't root for him, either. You're either on our team or you're not.
Don't blame Campbell for leaving at all. He made the business decision, no doubt. I'll root against PSU every time I see them play from now on. You can disagree and that's fine, but it won't change my opinion.

My take is this, Happy for Campbell and for his time at ISU, Happy for the players for their time at ISU. But outside that I dont care. I am not saying they didnt do great things while at ISU, just that I dont care that they ever do anything great somewhere else. I dont care to hear CW or anyone gush over how great they were, and how special they are. They left because ISU was not good enough for them, they went for the shiny thing in the window, good for them, but I dont have to care about them, or hope anything, other than I hope ISU is better off without them. I should not have to hope that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, I should be able to hope that the grass was always greener at ISU, and they are going to jump over that fence and land in a big pile of dog ****.Such a fun thread. Any tips on how I can make the following logic work?
All of these transfers players should be loyal to Iowa State and not consider any other options for schools, coaches, even if they don't get a long with the new staff.
75% of the transferring players won't end up at a power 4 school.
Matt Campbell purposely is trying to destroy Iowa State football.
Matt Campbell is an overrated coach and will get run out of Penn State
So, the roster Iowa State would have had next year with Campbell would have only had 20 power 4 caliber players and Campbell is a terrible coach and I should be angry that Iowa State will be so much worse next year (than a poorly coached team lacking talent) and I should be pissed that Jimmy Rogers isn't trying to keep all of these non-power 4 players and I should be pissed that Jimmy Rogers is going to fill up the roster with non-power 4 caliber players but apparently they are even worse than the players Campbell brought in who won 19 games the last two years with a bad coach.
My head is spinning.
I had this sort of same thought when I read a post from CW in a different thread about a guy who was going to transfer, but CW said something along the lines that he deleted his post out of the wishes of the player, or something to that affect. Thanks for saving me the trouble. I thought we were way past all that crap.

Also, I think the real question is more how you feel about Washington State fans being upset that Rogers left. I completely get it and don’t hold it against them, so I think it’s fair to be upset at CampbellNope. I have no investment in Rogers yet other than he's on our team now and I hope he does well. If he leaves I won't root for him, either. You're either on our team or you're not.

Pedo St wont give Campbell that much control, like ISU did.Good riddance. Penn State fans are gonna lose their minds when they see the team trotting out in all black every other week.
Look at Isheem Young's trajectory post Iowa State......YIKESMy take is this, Happy for Campbell and for his time at ISU, Happy for the players for their time at ISU. But outside that I dont care. I am not saying they didnt do great things while at ISU, just that I dont care that they ever do anything great somewhere else. That being said, they all have decided to go somewhere else, they have turned their backs on ISU and the Fanbase. So **** them. I dont give a **** about them anymore. I am not going to cheer for them, I am not going to hope the best for them.
Why should we all care and cheer for them to be great somewhere else. I have no personal connection to any of them, other than through ISU, so with them deciding to go somewhere else that anywhere else is better for them, and for them to not be loyal to ISU, then why should I give a rats ass as to what happens to them.
I wont be looking any of them up again, I wont care how their career goes, and I for sure will not hope they end up better off for leaving ISU, showing that anyone leaving or not choosing ISU is better for it. I never cheered for PSU before, so why should I cheer for them now because they stole our coach?
Who gives a **** about any of them, they chose to leave, they can live with it and no fans should feel obligated to care or want to hear about them.
This is a Cyclone page, this is for Cyclone fans, and those that choose to leave are no longer Cyclones, even though some claim they will always be, Im sure those that go to Pedo st will not list ISU as their school if they ever make it to the NFL, they will claim Pedo St, because saying they will always be a Cyclone is just BS fluff for fans to soak up, and for them to try to save face.
